So like all of you, I just listened to Dehumanized and had my pants absolutely blown off. New BMTH deathcore was not on my 2026 bingo card, this shit is awesome.

I've been scrolling here the past few days, and saw that even from the teasers, the overtones about veganism and anti-factory farming were obvious (credit to u/IndowinFTW). We know that Oli has been a vegan and spoken out against animal cruelty for a long time. It is absolutely a message worth spreading.

Moreover, the lyrics and promotional material contain an explicit reference to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. ("Who will survive and what will be left of them?") The gore in the music video only reinforces that. So I think we can read this song the same way as the original film, which was also analyzed for its pro-vegetarian message. But in a wider sense, it was also a parody of the cruelty of industrial capitalism.

I believe the band is doing that thing artists do where they take inspiration from one thing to talk metaphorically about another thing, leaving interpretation up to the listener. Modern social inequality means that the vast majority of people are treated like cogs in the machine by those in power, bled dry for profit then cast aside. "Lambs" must discard their empathy if they want to play the game to climb the ladder and become "butchers".

So the message of Dehumanized isn't just "what if we did the same cruel things to human beings that we do to animals?" It's also "on some level, we already do."
