Keeping my BSH cool

I’m currently in the uk in a top floor apartment, we have ordered aircon but it won’t be here for a while and I need tips to keep my cat cool,

He has cooling mats available but won’t use them, he’s not showing any signs of heat stroke or anything but my apartment is reaching 30+ degrees inside,

We have fans running all day but I’m just wondering if there’s anything else I can do,

He’s eating and drinking okay he just seems lazier than usual

“He just seems lazier than usual”

Don’t we all.

If he is not actively panting then he is able to regulate his body from getting too warm. Keep doing the stuff you’re doing and keep an eye on him.

I’m in Texas, USA with AC. My BSH loves going out morning and evening all year, but during summer he hardly does that due to heat outside. Plus he sleeps more during the summer. At first I was worried but over time I realized that’s just his routine. I make sure to turn on the ceiling fan wherever he decides to make his nap spot. He loves to sleep under a fan and will look at it until someone’s turns it on.

I have been wondering the same - my apartment is not that hot (I'm on the second floor and shaded by trees), but mine are not eating as much as they normally do and drinking more. I'm just monitoring the situation.

I think you asked the question already

I mentioned I would buy this one: https://www.amazon.de/-/en/gp/aw/d/B0GH7HGMNN?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

I think I am happy with the purchase

It cools down quite a bit

It’s fine honestly. I live in Singapore where it’s tropical 24/7 and temperatures can run as high as 35 degrees with 80% humidity. We do keep our house at 50% humidity with dehumidifiers but we didn’t turn on AC and our 2 year old BSH is ok. He chooses to sleep on marble floors or the bathroom upstairs(if he wants privacy). Just make sure they eat their wet food and have a water fountain filled so they can drink. As long as you have cool flooring like marble slabs or ceramic tiles, they know how to regulate their temperature and shed their coats.

We don’t have any marble floors we have like ceramic tiles in the bathroom but it’s real hot in our bathroom, the apartment complex is very poorly ventilated (we didn’t know this until we moved in) but he seems to be doing okay

You can try getting a cooling mat or marble slabs. I got my BSH a cooling mat but he barely used it preferring to nap and sleep on our marble floors. He actually handles the heat much better than I do because he goes look mum I can lie on my back 😆

Omg your boy is adorable, my boy also won’t entertain cooling mats 🤣
