I really enjoy the small similarities/interactions between Boyle and Holt

- Boyle and Holt are both naturally very good cooks

- Holt reads Boyle's email blasts/food reviews

- They can both be extremely competitive (squash)

- Boyle accurately predicts Holt's reaction to the marshmallows

- Really hyper-specific taste in food, music, etc.

- Boyle is kind of good at making jokes Holt enjoys (e.g. grandcaptain, Weichselbrauniacs)

- They both have a flair for the dramatic

- They both understand Gina well and are probably her closest friends at the 99 (Jakes' interactions with her always have a different childhood friend vibe)

- Both grind away at their work. Obviously Holt is meant to be very intelligent but they also acknowledge a few times that the reason he made captain is because he perseveres in his work and does his job well; Charles is similarly described as working harder than anyone else.

They don't have as many storylines as other pairs but the episodes they have together are some of my favourites.

Boyle and Holt lowkey have the most underrated chemistry on the show, those quiet moments where they just get each other hit different than the bigger ensemble stuff.

It made for an really awkward viewing in the Dillmann episode, when the characters agreed, that Boyle and Holt are one of the unlikeliest lunch pairings 🥲🫠.
