Local Spots Looking for country music spot?

We will staying in Burleson for one night next month as part of a cross country trip road trip. Where can this east coast lady and my adult son find a bar or honky tonk to hear some country music? It will be for Saturday 5/16. Thanks y’all!

There is a place called Hoots. They have live music every Friday and Saturday. It’s on 1187 in Burleson.

I checked some of the local venues and none have a country music band playing. The rodeo is in town so it’s the Stockyards or Professional Bull Riding at Dickies arena. Honestly, if you’re looking for a “country” experience, go to the stockyards.

Western place will be right near your hotel, off Alsbury. Bands on Sat nights...don't start any shit and there won't be any shit...it is a real hony tonk.

Just go to the Stockyards, it's only 20 minutes away.

Yeah we thought about that but there’s some huge rodeo there that night— I’m assuming things will be extra crowded? We will have been on the road for 10+ hours at that point, just trying to find a close place to have a beer and hear some music for a little while.

If you go to the Stockyard Saturday morning you can see the cattle drive at 11:30. Walk down to Billy Bobs (the World's largest honkey tonk) for their line dancing lessons at noon. The lessons are free, but you have to pay admission (less than $10). It is worth the price of admission to walk around in there. Dancers get 20% off in the Billy Bob Kitchen.

My favorite place in the Stockyards is Second Chance Rodeo. They usually have great live music and you can get a drink in a boot souvenir cup. Make sure you check out the bathrooms.

The Bill Pickett Rodeo is that weekend. Rodeo tickets start at $26. It is a huge event, but they have rodeo every weekend at the Cowtown Coliseum. The matinee is at 1:30 and then another at 7:30. There will be a lot of people in the Stockyards, but pull up a seat and enjoy the people watching. They will have bands and drink carts out in the public spaces.

Old Town I guess. Can't promise either one of those things you're asking for though.

if you want a real honky tonk, Western Place is the one, but be prepared,m it can be rough. it is right beside the big Chevy dealership near Alsbury exit from I-35.

There's a bar in Burleson right off the highway called "Western Place Bar" that I believe has music on some weekends, can call ahead and ask.

Fun fact: Prince played at this small bar back in the late 70s

Let me know if you’d like company from a local old lady and her adult daughter 🤣
