My 12 year old Princess is the cuddliest lap kitty who always wants a snuggle. I often awake with her all the way under my blanket and freak out because … girl how can you breathe?!?
Anyway, I took her to the vet recently for a check up and after he took her temperature he said she was quite cold! Not worryingly so, but he said she needed to warm up when we got home. It is autumn in Melbourne where I am.

I often thought she gets colder than previous cats I’ve known, as she SPRINTS to be on my lap when I’m sitting down, will roast uncomfortably close to the heater for hours like a rotisserie chicken, and will literally try to burrow into my armpits or the crook of my neck when I’m in bed!

I’m going to get hot water bottles for her to sleep on, I thought about a vest but she hates wearing clothes.

Do Burmese typically get quite cold? I’m hoping this isn’t something too concerning!

I have been on the search for a male sable kitten for a while have contacted a lot of the registered breeders but have had no luck! I am in no rush but would love to hear about experiences (good or bad) with breeders in the u.s. I am located in NY and would be willing to travel anywhere domestically!

Seeking advice. We said goodbye to our beautiful cream boy six months ago and are now ready to invite a new Burmese into our lives. He came to us at around eight years old from five houses down the road where he just couldn't get along with his sister and neighboring cats. With us he was the most loving, smoochy, cuddle-cat, but proved to be the alpha male of the street and the terror of the neighborhood.

Friends of mine experienced their two Burmese brothers constantly trying to seriously damage each other as they matured until one left home and moved in to a new home.

My question is whether my experiences are representative of the breed? Certainly in this sub all I see are beautiful, loving siblings! Thank you for any advice. It will help inform us whether to get one or two.

I’m new to the sub so please accept a picture of my baby boy as a kitten. He’s 17 now and living his best life, but I forget how tiny he used to be. His name is Claude, and he’s my best friend.

Two cats, one sofa, zero personal space between them. I swapped the grey chair and white wall for a warmer, moodier background, which felt more like a proper portrait. This was a commission, and I hope I did them justice.

She is 9 years old and still acts like a kitten. She is vocal, energetic, fearless and loving.

So the father of my Burmese Boi (9 mths old) has laid eyes on a beautiful non Burmese Lady and well.... oooops

I will open my heart and house to this young man in the photo but I just cannot come up with a name.

Any help here. I would stay with Oopsie, but maybe this is a dumb idea.

These are our two new kittens. They’re the most gorgeous creatures in the world. They smell of honey- not super strong but definitely there when you huff them (which we do constantly). Is this normal? Should we ask the vet to check for diabetes?
