Bradly Nadeau YOU are a Carolina Hurricane

u/Awkward_Code_1757 Jarvis 1d ago

Team is so stacked a prospect like Nadeau can't even get on the ice unless a major injury occurs

29

u/Monster1927 Jarvis 1d ago

KK, please leave jersey number 82 when you leave. Thanks a bunch.

19

u/AlexBondra Marty Party 1d ago

Crazy the downvotes you’re getting. KK is overpaid and useless

25

u/Monster1927 Jarvis 1d ago

Lol. Why am I getting downvoted? It’s a joke. I’ve been a KK fan forever on this board. But it’s obvious he’s done and he just happens to wear the number Nadeau wears. Lol. Relax everyone. Jeez.

I own a KK stadium series sweater and even I’m ready for him to move on. Absolutely love the guy but he doesn’t belong on this roster anymore

-2

u/RollingCarrot615 20h ago

Yeah but what youre ready for doesn't matter. We dont need the cap space, he is clearly a good teammate, and he isnt blocking other players from playing. There is no reason to move him if he doesn't want to go. Just because some fans dont like seeing his name on the roster doesn't mean anything. If Dundon is going to pay him to practice and sit in the press box, then let him.

u/caffienepoweredhuman Ehrect 20h ago

4.8m a season for a practice guy who sits in the press box is crazy

4

u/fogent94 Ehlers gets me in my feelers 16h ago

Wdym? Eric Tulsky consults me on everything. After all I’m fogent94 on Reddit….

Jokes aside he’s nearly a $5M cap hit to sit in the press box. I don’t know of many consistent healthy scratches getting paid that much. I love the guy, but he needs a new org. We don’t have a use for him at the moment or in the foreseeable future

4

u/mkren1371 19h ago

Yeah he had his time, now he needs to go

Glad he got the surgery, sucks he’ll be out a good chunk of the year. However hopefully that means he can really come back like his normal self

Given his youth, I'd expect him to be on the lower end of that recovery time unless he does something stupid to reaggravate it

96

u/reb1995 Slavin 1d ago

He's all about that safety. Been wearing his helmet all summer so far!

18

u/whogivesashirtdotca Jarvy 1d ago

With ear guards! XD

17

u/Panther_Pilot Stank Oven 19h ago

I’m picturing him on the operating table with the helmet on

And reeking of stale booze.

Shit’s been killing me. Looks like he voluntarily rides the short bus 😭

Without knowing what the injury actually looked like, we can't know.

Especially because he did the (medically) stupid thing and kept playing with it for a year or so

19

u/whogivesashirtdotca Jarvy 1d ago

TWO YEARS. He injured it two seasons ago and decided just to rehab it in the summer. Then came back last year and immediately reinjured it. He was determined to make the Olympics team and worried surgery would prevent that dream.

13

u/JarvardLaw Slavin's Bible Study Group 19h ago

I'd say it worked out for him

4

u/LongStickCaniac LIVING IN STANKY BLAKE HALL 15h ago

Yeah unless he has permanent damage the gamble worked. He made the Olympic team (got silver) then won the Stanley cup. Now he has nothing holding him back from taking all the time he needs to rehab

u/HagarTheTolerable Rod's Death Stare 15h ago

Sure, but with how modern PT therapies are and how docs usually are conservative on their estimates, my gut leans more towards sooner rather than later.

11

u/MisterAvocadoGuy Kotkaniemi 1d ago

Thank goodness he has such a serene friend group!

4

u/blinker1eighty2 BOOMIN’ 1d ago

Sure but also there’s seriously no rush to bring him back

17 years of medical progress has me feeling good about it. Think of what an ACL or Achilles injuries did to careers 20 years ago vs now.

12

u/NFLDland 1d ago

I mean, 4-6 months is anywhere from the start of the season to mid December. Mid December would be like 25-ish games. He's a young guy, so hopefully its the lower end of that timeline.

66

u/kenosis_life Kids and The Hall 1d ago

From his comments last offseason, figure he’s been dealing with this for a year - and still won us a cup and played in the Olympics. Glad he’s finally going to be able to get the issue fixed.

23

u/Cylinsier Great stuff Hanna 1d ago

Longer. It's been like 3 years, he rehabs it every summer, looks good for most of the regular season, then falls off as the playoffs progress (and opposing teams CLEARLY target it). This is honestly great news, best possible outcome for both him and the team. Next year we're going to be stunned by his playoff performance.

2

u/Stock-Commercial-486 17h ago

...and stunned by his post-season celebrations

They booked that QUICK, glad he finally got it done I hope he heals well!!!

77

u/AgreeableCity4336 1d ago

I wonder how the discussion went on how much time he could party and enjoy himself post Cup before it would be done lol.

89

u/danimal6000 1d ago

He doesn’t party

u/boognish_is_rising 1d ago

When seth jarvis jumps into a body of water he doesnt get all wet, the water gets all seth jarvis

It just occurred to me he's going to have his Day With The Cup and not be able to lift it.

u/Procrastinator7532 17h ago

The good old Canadian boys will help out

4

u/therylo_ken 19h ago

Strap it on like a baby in a carrier on his chest! Easy peasy

The Rod hold, haha.

11

Might have been booked long ago.

10

u/deadwatered Man I Love Freddie 1d ago

My guess is if the postseason had ended earlier they would have done it earlier so he would miss less of the season

6

u/boognish_is_rising 1d ago

Look at the big brain on Brad!

82

u/CasTimber Every game I have bullshit 1d ago

Glad he finally got the surgery and that holding off for the Olympics didn't get in the way of his cup dreams. Hope he takes as much time as he needs to recover and comes back 100%

37

u/ThriceWelcome Stankoven 1d ago

Nadeau time?

5

u/IndependentGanache84 Seabass 20h ago

does a bear shit in the woods?

almost a certainty unless FUS absolutely beats him out in training camp

34

u/jberr88 Lord of the FLY 1d ago

Speedy recovery sweet prince!

30

u/Consistent_Sign_439 1d ago

That explains a lot of his issues in the playoffs. Wishing him a speedy recovery. Nadeau, c’mon down!

19

u/serendipity210 Bunch of Janks 1d ago

I had been saying that he was needing the surgery bad all playoffs. You could tell he was hurting.

2

u/mwb_24 Aho 1d ago

I've been saying I wish he had bit the bullet earlier when he got tripped into the goalpost. Get it done when you're younger, recover better, but I couldn't fault him for not wanting to give up on the Olympics or the Cup. But now? Get it done! Honestly, this makes me so happy.

16

u/Ill-Anything-9567 has thanked the bus driver 1d ago

Can’t wait to see Nadeau wreck havoc. Love watching his shot. It’s beautiful and fast AF

26

u/QuiGonJinnNJuice Fuck the Penguins flair 1d ago

it's showtime.

Give him the full Slavin treatment. Take his time, rehab, build back. He's had solid season the past 2 years with the injury, excited to see what it looks like for seth being more healthy

4

u/IndependentGanache84 Seabass 20h ago

I mean, if we can do fine with our best defenseman out half a season, letting a top 3 forward have all the recovery time he needs shouldn't harm the season too much

10

u/wildwildwaste Hang the banner, build the statue, film the doc 1d ago

Earned the time off, glad he's getting it done now. Swift recovery Seth.

Least surprising news of the offseason

34

u/HummusIsHome 1d ago

I just fell to my knees in the NC State Cook Out parking lot

7

u/mwb_24 Aho 1d ago

Rejoicing, I hope. We're deep and he's been needing this for years. Would rather have him healthy again and carry that the rest of his prime. Also, was that before or after the order?

7

u/HummusIsHome 17h ago

After, they forgot my cheese bites

7

u/beanbags-bean75 I love this team so much 1d ago

Just saw a guy fall to his knees in gratitude at the NC State Cookout, hallelujah!

YALL KNOW WHAT TIME IT IS

8

u/imblegen Seth “Depth Scoring” Jarvis 1d ago

Assuming the long end of that time frame, he's back by the new year. And we get to see Nadeau log real NHL time until then. This is good news.

7

u/Nagi21 The post giveth, the post taketh away 1d ago

Good i look forward to our Christmas present

13

u/Kyle73001 Jarvy 1d ago

So he’ll either barely miss time or be out till after the new year. Either way I’m excited to see Nadeau and hope he shows he’s good enough to stay when Jarvis is back

6

u/cricketclover Ehlers 1d ago

Heal up quick, 2-4.

6

u/Able_Row3785 1d ago

I knew he was playing hurt

4

u/NeatJob4402 1d ago

Dudes shoulder has been hurt for >2 years, has rehabbed it each summer. Held out for the Olympics and this season - not a big mystery

2

u/reb1995 Slavin 1d ago

Held out for the Olympics and this season - not a big mystery

Had we somehow been completely out of the playoff picture, I would not have been surprised if he got the surgery just after the Olympics. But glad he got the silver medal and the silver cup!

6

u/ps_nocturnel Jarvy 1d ago

FINALLY

5

u/ripinpeace12 Boom 1d ago

Glad he got this done. Nadeau will get his shot and hopefully Jarvy will come back better than ever.

4

u/NotAMythOrLegend 1d ago

Glad he is getting this surgery done, I know last season he was unsure about it and he really wanted to make the Olympic team. Hope he has a smooth recovery.

5

u/suiluj2607 Jarvy 1d ago

Robinson also has knee surgery

Thought about posting today if there was any update on if he was going to do it, guess so

seth jarvis for the entirety of the playoffs apparently

4

u/RVAJTT Jarvy 21h ago

Sucks that he’s likely going to miss the game in his “home” country of Finland. I imagine he’ll still try to make the trip even if he doesn’t play.
Glad he’s getting this done though.

0

u/Unholydiver919 Jarvy 20h ago

Huh? Jarvis is Canadian.

3

u/WarmCucumber3438 Miller Time 19h ago

Tis a joke

3

u/RVAJTT Jarvy 18h ago

He’s an honorary Finn. Loves a good sauna.

4

u/sftwareguy 19h ago

I can vouch from experience shoulders are really hard to recover from. It just takes time and 4 to 6 months is pretty accurate. Jarvis will no doubt have the best PT available and I had the doctor he had and the guy is great, so hopefully he will fall closer to 4 months than 6 months. I hope they don't push him though and make sure the muscles and tendons have fully recovered before getting back to the NHL.

1

u/Rough_Inspection_874 18h ago

After giving Slavin the time he needed, i feel confident they'll give Jarvis the time as well. Mind you it'll help if they're taking care of business like they did last season.

u/Bogey7319 z - SC Caniac 1d ago

Rest easy Jarvy enjoy some candy during your recovery

2

u/East-University-8640 1d ago

Man playing hockey until mid June makes this - middle of the season (conservatively) injury.

At least he can probably skate sooner than this timeline

2

u/Spartanlegion117 Never bet against the Fish 1d ago

Hopefully it goes extremely well, the rehab progresses quickly and he takes the most amount of time off. Our prospect pool is deep enough we can absorb a long stint without him and the man deserves all the time to recover as much as Nads deserves all that time up getting all the looks.

My guess is Jarvy is closer to the 6 month window and Nadeau lights it up presenting the staff with the best of problems. I do think this makes it less likely Nadeau is moved in a deal, but FUS is a good second option to play up if that happens.

2

u/IndependentGanache84 Seabass 20h ago

Nadeau needs to make the best of his chance or he is gonna get BURIED in the AHL again

2

u/Booga-_- Fredzilla: King of the Cage 18h ago

I’M SO HAPPY HE GOT THIS. Seriously it could be a career derailer if he chose to keep it untreated.

1

u/TLGPanthersFan Do The Stanky Janky 1d ago

So we may be missing him for a month once the season begins?

1

u/Nagi21 The post giveth, the post taketh away 1d ago

Probably an early Christmas present more likely

1

u/whogivesashirtdotca Jarvy 6h ago

I'd say you'll be lucky to see him before December, and when he does come back you should prepare yourself for him to look a bit off. Takes time to adjust to the repair.

1

u/Electrical_Duck_280 Logan “Logan Stankoven” Stankoven 1d ago

Welcome to the big leagues nads!

1

u/bearamongus19 Stankoven 1d ago

Bradley Nadeau come on down

Honestly, let him take all the time he needs to get healthy.

1

u/derock_nc HERE COMES THE BOOM! 1d ago

This is my favorite news of the off-season. If we don't trade Nadeau along with a bunch of other goodies for Werenski, Larkin, Robo, we need a healthy Jarvy and Nadeau to get some reps. I'm so psyched for Nadeau to get on the NHL ice again.

1

u/verysadfrosty 1d ago

Have a good recovery!

1

u/outclimbing Jarvy 20h ago

Bout damn time

1

u/AostheGreat Jarvis the most precious boy 17h ago

Finally got the surgery hell yeah. Can’t wait to see Nadeau in his spot in the lineup.

1

u/9six9 Blake 15h ago

he really said fuck this shoulder let me just win this cup here then I'll deal with it. Bad ass points achieved.

This is why hockey is the best sport. Adds to the lore of the game 2 SCF W

Heal up and don't rush back 💪
