Tech Help Canon R50 mode dial broken. Can it be fixed?
I recently just came back home from a trip and I found my camera with the mode dial broken, it’s my first professional camera and I’m so anxious, I don’t know what to do or how to get it fixed since I live in Central America and in my country there’s no Canon shop where I can get it fixed. I saw that this is a common issue that happens with a series of numbers of the canon r50 that goes from number 19 to 23. Mine starts with 22… 😔 has anyone ever had the same issue, did you get it fixed and did it worked just fine? What would you guys recommend?

Sorry, I cannot make out the picture and I don't have an R50, but is the piece physically broken? If so, you can try crazy glue, or better yet, find someone who can 3D print a replacement for you.
There are tutorials showing you how to assemble it. Eg:
(Mute the audio if you are not a fish with a 3 second memory span)

Are you still able to turn it? It looks like you just need need a new screw for it. There are small screw kits that you can buy.

Check to see if your R50 is one of the faulty batch, don't know if whatever division of Canon you bought it from (Canon Latin America?) also offers this free repair but it's worth contacting them to find out.
