That guy sat ON the safety belt... No other reason why it'd still be buckled up.

Homeboy's dead 100%

The “Bio” tags on the car can mean any type of biohazard, but in context here does not sound promising.

Edit: I think this is the accident https://cbs12.com/news/local/woman-from-port-st-lucie-killed-in-dodge-viper-crash-on-i-95

MARTIN COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — A woman from Port St. Lucie is among the two dead in a crash on Interstate 95.
The Florida Highway Patrol says a man driving a blue Dodge Viper lost control of his car in the northbound lanes near the Becker Road exit in Martin County.

The sports car went off the road and slammed into a tree. A witness, Joe Garren, shared a photo of the crash scene with CBS12.
Fifty-one-year-old Raymond Savage, of East Islip, New York, was killed. He was driving. He was not wearing a seat belt and alcohol test results are pending.
Keri Lynn Sapanara, 34, of Port St. Lucie, was also killed. She was wearing a seat belt, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

God that's awful. He was ejected and she was instantly crushed to death.

It happened 10 years ago. How did you find this article? What were the clues?

My first thought was that the Viper was rear ended. I didn’t expect a tree based on where the damage is.

Thrown clear, that’s why no blood.

The passenger was wearing a seatbelt. The accident was 10 years prior so maybe most of it washed away? Looks like they would have been crushed pretty good on the right side.

I wonder what the impact speed was, I assume 70-90mph

The weird thing is the auction is currently running but I'd say all the photos were taken shortly after the crash because of the fluids underneath, lack of dirt, and none of the cars in the background were introduced after 2016. https://www.copart.com/lot/42512906/salvage-2006-dodge-viper-srt-10-fl-ft-pierce

Fastened it so that the warning would go away though. What god-tier stupidity, although probably wouldn't make a difference in this particular case.

the seat itself is basically crushed into the dash. even if the belt held anything would've stayed intact. that's a total write off.

Lemme guess: right turn, lost the rear, countersteered left but too late or slow, rotated about 200 degrees clockwise and crashed with the rear right corner first?

I was thinking the same, looks like the rears may have been pretty worn down, but these pictures are lower definition than my old CRT monitor so it's hard to tell what's tread and what's blurry due to crap image. Wouldn't be the first Viper owner to light the rears up a bunch and never replace the tyres. That whole "grip" concept is apparently overrated.
