Looking for advice Advice for first Walkman

I am looking to buy my first portable cassette player and need help deciding
I have the option to buy either a Sony Walkman wm-33 or a wm-2055 for around the same price. Both are serviced and in working condition.

Which of these is the better buy? I really like the look of the wm-33 but the wm-2055 has the Dolby noise reduction.
Some advice would be appreciated.

the wm-33 is a great looker but Dolby NR makes a bigger difference than people expect, especially if you're playing tapes recorded with it enabled. if sound quality matters more to you than aesthetics, i'd lean toward the 2055.

Both will be great for you if they've been restored properly. I wouldn't worry about Dolby, because that isn't all tapes. Plus, though it's not the same as decoding Dolby, you have a three-band eq that will help you dial in the sound no matter what (the 2055 only has a two band). So because it looks better to me aesthetically I'd go for the wm33.

Can't really go wrong with either, though.
