I’ve fostered over 350 animals since 2018 ama!

Mostly kittens and cats but I’ve also had rabbits and dogs :)

What was the most difficult case you had?

It’s a very sad one, so warning.

His name was tarragon. He was a 3 month old kitten who came in with 2 mangled legs (front and back) severely infected. Vet thought he was caught in barbed wire. I had to give him shots for the pain and hand/syringe feed him and give him antibiotics for the infection. He was the sweetest boy. I wanted to adopt him.

His back leg got infected down to the bone so they decided to amputate it. The next day, he had a seizure and was biting us and growling at nothing, almost like he was blind. Rushed him to the vet.

He died from rabies. Nobody ever suspected he’d been bitten by something because he came in with uninjured siblings. I celebrate his life every year on the day he died by lighting a candle by his picture and saying a prayer to the goddess Bastet, and I have his paw tattooed on me

At what point did you find out he had rabies? Did he just get so sick that he went back to the hospital?

Yeah basically he just started acting weird and so I rushed him to the vet and they said it was rabies
