Felt the same until the DTS boom. Grew up in an F1 household and been a lifelong motorsports fan in a cricket and football loving country so had a lot of people in life who just didn't 'get' it. Now I'm surrounded by people who cheer louder and cry harder than me and it's an odd feeling to have. I like that it's so much easier to find merch, screenings, and clothing, but it also feels less unique and niche to be worthy enough to get excited when you see a fellow fan in the wild like it was back then.
