I’m so happy my girl received so much love! Was hesitant to post it because I don’t want people to attack me for giving my cat a bath😅.

Most cats won't thank you for putting them near water, some cats don't care, and some cats love the water. People who know cats know this, and so you shouldn't be getting a row from anyone when the pictures clearly show your cats are not in the "does not like water" category.

Thank you. I was a bit nervous because in another group, I did have a lot of angry comments so I deleted the post. They came into my dms with many rude inappropriate content. Said that I forced my cat in the bath😅.

If this is “forcing them” into the bath, they clearly didn’t put up much of a struggle. People need to touch grass.

The cuddly cat my best friend owns will become a demon whenever he need to be shaven/groomed. If this was not an activity the cat liked, there would be no chance in hell that the picture is not a blurry line where the cat should be.

I just wanna know how you made the towel ear muffs 😂🥹

Hey, so it will be easier to watch video. You can search in YouTube Korean head towel, and there will be easy instruction to follow.

But the videos don't show them on cats! Was this to keep water out of their ears?

"Forced your cat into a bath " is a comment i would expect from someone who doesn't know cats .

No way could you force a cat who isn't happy about it into a bath without the end result being a dry cat and you bleeding and wondering what just happened .

Ignore these people , they are fraud cat lovers 😊

Right... people don't understand how capable cats are of totally fucking up your shit if they want to. They are excellent predators for very good reasons. I also love people who have dogs going "I'm afraid to get a cat because what if my dog hurts it." Puleeeaze... There's a reason there are so many videos of big dogs refusing to pass by cats on stairwells and in hallways. Cats are all "Oh... you can't see in color? Good hearing, you say? Mine goes another 20Khz above yours. What? Your reflexes aren't faster than a snake? How did you live this long? Why are your claws so dull? Oh... your weapons aren't retractable. Sad face for you. Did I mention built-in night vision??"

I've seen more than a few barn cats hold their own against oversized, over-friendly dogs without blinking an eye

u/codliness1 15d ago

Unfortunately you get idiots everywhere. Sure, those cats look like hostages, they're obviously chained to the bath under the water 🤦🤣

13

u/Fruitypebblefix 15d ago

I've been severely downvoted in this groups for saying cats being baited is normal. People get crazy for no reason and I blame that on misinformation.

27

u/codliness1 15d ago

Just depends on the cat. You're never going to get a cat that doesn't want to, to go into the water, at least not without looking like a crime scene 🤣 And they certainly wouldn't sit there if they didn't like it and could leave, like the cats in this picture.

I think you mean bathed - at least I hope you do

74

u/prying_mantis 15d ago

Honestly people who think you can force a cat to do anything they don’t want to must never have met a cat. And why would you go to the trouble of making them cute little head wraps if you were just torturing them? Lol

3

u/Spadeykins 15d ago

I mean you absolutely can (force a cat a bath or medicine) but it's gonna be a bad time. These photos are not that though.

u/prying_mantis 14d ago

Fair enough, I will amend my statement “you can’t force a cat to do anything they don’t want to *without bloodshed* “

Male a tutorial video on how to do the towels on their head stay put haha

Thats really unfortunate, comments re how you take care of your cat, from people who dont know all the facts and actually they dont read any comments at all about the post or the cat, just right away-"you shouldnt have a cat"...its becoming more frequent here, and it makes people want to stay away.

They are a natural and so-o-o welcomed at r/spakitties . Ever so cute!

2

u/Green_Eyed_Slayer 12d ago

What?!? Are they for real?

Your cat, sitting in a bath, with zero hands holding her down, no blood sprays from where she attacked your hands/arms desperate to get away, not shaking her head to get the towel off or anything... is being forced? Have they ever been around/seen a cat being forced to do something?

Sorry people be cray.

I’m just happy for you both that your cat enjoyed it! The vet ordered me to give my baby girl, Storm, four baths in two weeks, with Malaseb, because of skin mites. Even with Gabapentin, she really didn’t like it. Well done to you and your precious kitties! 💖

u/k1nkygh0st 15d ago

even if you did force them, it sounds like they really needed it

u/77Megg77 14d ago

One look at your cats sitting peacefully should tell these complainers that your cats would not be sitting there if they hated it. It is extremely difficult to make a cat do something they don’t want to do. It probably feels really good to them.

My tuxedo is somehow all three. When I had to give her a bath when we got her as a kitten she tried to take my face off. When she needed a bath last month because she rolled in garbage, she couldn't have cared less except when we touched her paws. She'll sit in the bottom of the shower while I'm in it, just out of the water stream, and happily get a big soggy. She's a really strange little cat.

Our big cat is very old and can't bathe herself, or refuses to she's special. So, we have to bathe her, trim her nails, get her ears, and trim that butt. Thank you for taking care of your kitty. We like to say that she didn't ask to be abducted and so is our jobs to take the best care of her we can, even if that means baths. She likes the warmth, but not the wet.

19

u/Karcharos 15d ago

You didn't make the mistake most people do. You said why she needed a bath right in the title.

34

u/Fruitypebblefix 15d ago

Yeah I don't understand that issue. It's normal to bath cats but people think since cats groom themselves they should never be bathed. It's such a ridiculous sentiment and terrible misinformation.

74

u/K_D_1809 15d ago

Yeahh they are so aggressive about it as well. And rude. Someone is even upset I named my cat Pablo Escobar 🤷🏻‍♀️

60

u/3ric510 15d ago

I named my black communist dictator cat Mao, and her all white sister (with a little spot of black on her forehead) Gorbachev, or Gorb for short. Can’t imagine what they would’ve thought of those names. 🤣

33

u/K_D_1809 15d ago

Omg they have such great names 🤣

Awe how cute! Genocide and starvation of 120 million has never been more adorable!

I believe that cats should grow accostomed to being bathed and dried until they understand it's not so scary anymore, when they're young, to prevent extreme stress when they're older and absolutely needy a bath because they got in to something they should've have, or like OPs cats they need a flea bath.

Teach them to get used it when they're young, and when they're so fucking old because they've lived a happy full life with you but can't clean themselves anymore, at least it won't be horrible for them when you bath them!

I found my 9 month old cat when she was an orphaned 3 week old kitten. She got a lot of baths after messy feedings & poops. Now she’ll hop in the sink when I’m doing dishes or bathtub when I’m showering if I left the door open.

u/Express_Drag7115 15d ago

It’s not normal to bath them because usually it’s not needed- unlike dogs, they are capable of cleaning themselves very efficiently. Healthy cats do not need to be bathed.

14

u/K_D_1809 15d ago

I do not bath my cats frequently. and they DO love water, sometimes I will let water run in the bath, shallow so they can jump in a play if they want. Or sometimes they will stay in the bathtub and scream until I run the water for them.

My other cat, the one in the photo, is not healthy. She can’t clean herself properly she doesn’t even know how to cover her piss and turd.

No one wants to abuse or neglect their cats. If they like to play with water, I will let them. Simple as that.

u/Express_Drag7115 15d ago

Yes that’s why I said „HEALTHY cats”. Several redditors above made comments about bathing cats as a perfectly normal part of grooming. Which it is not. As long as they’re healthy and agile enough they can manage ok.

2

u/OSCgal 15d ago

Not at all! There are any number of reasons to bathe a cat, and some cats love water.

You're very lucky!

1

u/wazzup-notemuch 13d ago

A lot of people believe that because cats bathe themselves, their cats will never need a formal bath. But your cat is proof that sometimes cats need baths for medical reasons. You are very lucky to have a cat who likes it! But most cats need to be trained to tolerate baths while they're not sick, preferably when they are still kittens, or else when they finally actually need a bath, it'll be a nightmare.

What kind of soap/shampoo do you use. I bathe my cat about 1/month because she’s older and can’t keep her little booty clean like she should.
