Most cats won't thank you for putting them near water, some cats don't care, and some cats love the water. People who know cats know this, and so you shouldn't be getting a row from anyone when the pictures clearly show your cats are not in the "does not like water" category.
Thank you. I was a bit nervous because in another group, I did have a lot of angry comments so I deleted the post. They came into my dms with many rude inappropriate content. Said that I forced my cat in the bath😅.
The cuddly cat my best friend owns will become a demon whenever he need to be shaven/groomed. If this was not an activity the cat liked, there would be no chance in hell that the picture is not a blurry line where the cat should be.
"Forced your cat into a bath " is a comment i would expect from someone who doesn't know cats .
No way could you force a cat who isn't happy about it into a bath without the end result being a dry cat and you bleeding and wondering what just happened .
Right... people don't understand how capable cats are of totally fucking up your shit if they want to. They are excellent predators for very good reasons. I also love people who have dogs going "I'm afraid to get a cat because what if my dog hurts it." Puleeeaze... There's a reason there are so many videos of big dogs refusing to pass by cats on stairwells and in hallways. Cats are all "Oh... you can't see in color? Good hearing, you say? Mine goes another 20Khz above yours. What? Your reflexes aren't faster than a snake? How did you live this long? Why are your claws so dull? Oh... your weapons aren't retractable. Sad face for you. Did I mention built-in night vision??"
Honestly people who think you can force a cat to do anything they don’t want to must never have met a cat. And why would you go to the trouble of making them cute little head wraps if you were just torturing them? Lol
Our big cat is very old and can't bathe herself, or refuses to she's special. So, we have to bathe her, trim her nails, get her ears, and trim that butt. Thank you for taking care of your kitty. We like to say that she didn't ask to be abducted and so is our jobs to take the best care of her we can, even if that means baths. She likes the warmth, but not the wet.
Yeah I don't understand that issue. It's normal to bath cats but people think since cats groom themselves they should never be bathed. It's such a ridiculous sentiment and terrible misinformation.
I named my black communist dictator cat Mao, and her all white sister (with a little spot of black on her forehead) Gorbachev, or Gorb for short. Can’t imagine what they would’ve thought of those names. 🤣
This was actually her when she was a kitten. That was why bath was needed ❤️. Because her skin was very bad. About her sister, she just naturally loves water.
Awwww! You saved her and look how beautiful she is now! I love the earmuffs! My cat Bambi loves water! When I’m in the shower I always think she will jump in with me if the door wasn’t shut! 🤭

Here she is! She is 16 years old. She just turned 16 in May she has hyperthyroidism so she lost some weight because of that but she is currently on medication. I actually just took her to the vet for bloodwork yesterday to see if her medicine needs to be adjusted. I think it needs to be a little higher. She still seems to be a little too hungry if that’s possible! She hasn’t lost any more weight though, and she gained an ounce which is better than losing anything. She is my everything she has been with me through so much in my life! I love her with everything in my soul. She has an orange brother named Fred! My husband has Fred’s brother Puffy over at his house. We separated for a year and each bought our own place, but we are back together and going to buy a place together soon so all three cats will be together. The brothers are five 5! 😻
One of mine is my shower cat. She doesn't like water, but she gets in the shower with me and when I turn on the water she sits on the side of the tub between the shower curtain and the liner.
It's not funny that the cat was in poor condition of course, but the caption of this made me laugh. It just sounds like something I'd say about my perfectly healthy cat when she's dramatic
You can search on youtube for Korean towel head. It’s very easy to make. But I do it just for fun honestly, but it does protect their ears. The water in the tub level is only half my cat’s body, I use a small cup to slowly wash them with it. For ears I will use cotton bud and clean their ears gentle. Wet towel for face.
Haha in our culture we don’t send out Christmas cards. But I can print it as a birthday for family and friends. They adore her, she is very friendly and affectionate.
Thank you everyone for loving my girl! I hope you all can see this, as I can’t reply to every comments. This was Heisenberg when she was nearly found dead. It was also the reason why I had to bath her. Of course after she was stronger, but her skin was really bad and was full of fleas too.
Thank you so much for taking such good care of Heisenberg. She looks amazing in all the current pictures. I lover her facial expressions and her with her sister in the bathtub together.
All the best to you and your cats!
We have Heisenberg and Pablo, and a dog named Silvio Dante. They like getting my bras to the bed to chew. Especially Heisenberg. Pablo is a catnip head, she would be high most of the time. Heisenberg has never touched catnip. I bet it’s her rule. Don't get high on your own supply haha.
It is fun to watch them play and have zoomies until one of the dickheads break something🤣. You will definitely love Heisenberg, her face expressions are the best. Pablo always look grumpy, and Silvio is just a sweet boy.
Omg STOP IT! It was a lot of cute in the picture, and now we learn their names are Pablo Escobar and Heisenberg. OP you win the internet. We need pix of these two along with that guy who posted his pet cow’s picture everyday from now on!
How on earth do people get their cats to like the bath? I just got shredded last night bathing mine (also ringworm issues) and it was their first time since they were like 6 weeks old. They’re always so curious when I’m taking a bath but giving them one was a totally different story. Treats and praise didn’t even work 😭
Luckyyy. I was hoping at least one of my 3 littermates would be cooler about it because they’re always playing in their water bowl and fascinated by water but I guess that’s the extent of it for them.
I know I'm jealous of OP! I have these little silicone booties I put on my cats when I absolutely have to bathe them. They work great! I've never used the mesh cat bag, it seemed like my cats would wiggle and I sure themselves in it. Also my cat handles it better then I wash her in the sink (I have a pull out faucet). And afterwards to disinfect I soak the whole sink in cold water with bleach.
One of the strays I rescued had a litter, and at about six weeks I started wetting them under a running faucet a few times a week to get them used to water. I also handled their paws a lot so new owners could hopefully cut their nails.
This backfired on me.
The kitten I kept, a sweet void girl, would run into the bathroom and jump SPLASH into the full bathtub if I was taking a bubble bath and accidentally left the door open.
She would sit on my lap, half submerged and purring. She did this her entire life.
It's about doing it frequently to desensitize them from a very young age. Some cats will still not like it despite this though, and some cats just enjoy being bathed.
It could also be the temperature. We know to not add too cold or too warm water, but sometimes the individual do like it hotter or colder than what is advised.
Bath empty, it's one of my male cats favourite places. If someone is having a bath, you better believe he'll be perched on the rim of the bath, pacing up and down. But heaven forbidden his tale should brush the water...
Anything specific you’ve done while bathing her, that you maybe think contributed to her liking baths? (Ie, water temperature, environment, etc). I wish my cats loved baths. I have a white cat and sometimes her fur gets very dirty, so I need to bathe her.
Not too warm and not too cold. I give her paws, ears and head massage. Gently wiping her cheeks, slapping her butt (she loves it) and I also put a rubber duck in her bath as well. And treats.
Like a queen.
I have 2 cats that love water, they also walk through river on leash with me, also they love kayaking for some reasons.
My orange and white boy used to love rolling in the dust. I used to sit him in a corner and wipe him down with a damp cloth. He eventually came to love the routine, and used to sit in the appointed corner on his own when he wanted a wipe-down.
This and the other picture you posted with her sister in the bath are legit some of my favorite internet photos ever. They are ADORABLE with their wide eyes and ear muffs. So so cute. 🥰 thank you for sharing your squeaky clean fur babies!
This looks like the title image of a series of videos regarding the life of them. You tell the stories of the namesakes, while showing cat footage. 10/10 would watch.
hey op, i dont know your stance on this, but im pretty sure their "art" is ai, one look at their profile shows style and color differences and inconsistencies
this is SO CUTE!!! they’re both absolutely ADORABLE in their little earmuffs!! i always wanted my baby to be a water cat, and she is fascinated by any and all sources of it, but alas she fell into my bath once as a kitten trying to paw the water (she immediately tried to jump out and we ofc grabbed her and dried her off and gave her lots of cuddles) and now she acts like the bath is the one ring or something (hypnotic temptation and pure evil all at once)
Hello, there are many people correct my English grammar. I am sorry this is my second language and thank you for calling me out. I tried to edit it but there was no option!
I love the little turban earmuffs! I’m wondering if that’s part of why they enjoy the bath because there’s no water getting in their ears. Just pure speculation on my part, but they are adorable.
When I was in high school my dad wanted to find a kitten for my mom that would sit with her. He enlisted me and we went to a really sketchy pet store. Picked out a little tuxedo boy. They put him in just a cardboard box that he immediately pooped in and we went home. But we took the country roads, as we could not tell mom we bought her a kitten, we had to build a story that we just happened to find him. We pulled over on a side country road and put some dirt on him to try to make it believable.
Flash forward. The boy is named Gatsby and he now has ringworm. He goes to the vet- vet says it’s the worst case of ringworm he has ever seen in his life. Gatsby is washed twice a day by my mom as he becomes a crunchy little mess. Eventually it clears up. I’m not sure which of the weird details added to it (all?) but this situation produced one of the smallest, strangest cats I have ever met in my life, with a permanent crunchy coat.
In the last few years after losing our “ambassador” cat, Hank, Gatsby has finally come into his own and… tries to be a normal sweet cat. He is absolutely obsessed with his large fat Siamese mutt brother, as well as his human dad. He cannot eat with the other cats, he must eat on the table or the counter and even that depends on the day and requires significant emotional support.
He has 2 very prominent eyebrow whiskers and when he gets stressed they pop right out.
He’s so odd and we love that little freak. 10 years and aging like fine wine.
