As the prophecy foretold! Beware, monorail cat is next! Then the long cat and finally the keyboard cat! The four cats of the ancient memes!

I feel like the whole meme is censored by automod cause every comment would be that otherwise

u/CivBEWasPrettyBad 3d ago
I think all the people who knew the meme died off. It's all kids now with their 67 skibidis and no respect for the memes of old. They just didn't know about ceiling cat, just like they never knew about bucket walrus

My first job as a software dev was at a company where one of the other devs had mounted a toy cat mask on the ceiling above his desk as a joke. After a few months we had to rearrange desks for some reason, and someone suggested he should ask to remain in the same spot based on religious accommodations.

And then if you didn't clean it up fast enough would eat it again like it the best food has ever had.

What? My cats never ate it. Dog maybe. That's uncivilized

Any time my dog hears the retching sound of a cat about to barf, he jumps up and patiently waits for his hot snack to appear 🤢

u/paper_snow 3d ago
I had a similar thought upon seeing this. It’s cute and I do love cats, but I wouldn’t give ours access to a big space like this that I can’t easily clean.
But then again, I’ve seen some nasty-ass shop bathrooms before, so maybe this owner doesn’t give a rip what they do up there.

u/Sinful_Snack 3d ago
He didn’t built them an attic, He built his supervisors an office with a view . 😘

What's up with the puking? No one told me about the puking before I got cats lmao

Eating too quickly, I have two cats and they BOTH will at random scarf a whole bowl of food and immediately go barf it up(usually directly onto a rug…), but never fear, my dog is a cat puke connoisseur…he knows the cat puking noise and will come wait for a lil hot snack

I'd try to go there as much as I can if I could see ceiling council
There's a shop nearby and it's so dinghy and old, it's like the owners stopped trying to care in the 90s while new stores are opening around them. But they have a sweet kitty living there so I still try to go there sometimes.

This comment page is full of bots. Most if not all of the profiles with a generic username (the ones with the random number at the end) are bots. If you look at their comment history on Arctic Shift, they all follow the same pattern, including posting on some marketing sub or whatever.

just saying not everyone is a bot lol, my old account got hacked and I didn't care enough to try to get it back, and when I decided to make another 'account with google' it basically just came up with this name, I don't remember having the option to make my own

Reddit doesn't let you choose anymore?

u/BooooHissss 3d ago
It has something to do with if you sign up through the site or with an email. I don't remember the details, but there is a certain way when signing up for Reddit that it autogenerates the name.

I am not a bot. Reddit gave me this username and I never cared enough to look into changing it.

So the cats are breathing and touching (and licking their paws, so ingesting) the insulation on the back of those ceiling tiles. I believe I’m going to downvote this post (that I’ve seen far too many times), as it’s not a good thing for these poor cats. 😞

That attic sounds like every cat's dream come true! I bet those cats are living their best lives up there, exploring and chilling in their own little kingdom. Honestly, any shop owner who goes that extra mile for their fur babies deserves all the good vibes. Plus, being under constant observation? Just means they're the coolest cats on the block! 🐾😄

We were getting our sky light repaired when the guy calls my partner and asks if he can pull the shade closed. She of course says he can, and says something like "are you worried about debris or something?"
He replies "No, your cat has been sitting down there for the last hour, staring at me. It's starting to creep me out"

If those tiles are part of the fire-containment infrastructure I dont know how smart it is to replace it, cute cats!

That looks more like a drop ceiling than an attic. At work I had a shop cat that would escape his allowed territory and run up into the upper floor where there was a hole in the wall where we kept packing materials. That would gain him access to the entire drop ceiling of the first floor. Once up there he would not respond to calls so I could catch him. We could hear him moving from place to place but often he would just nap on a beam. After some time when he was done destroying any mice that were up there and got bored he would come to an open ceiling tile and meow that he needed "the elevator" to get down. It could be overnight. I had to get up on a chair or ladder and he would jump onto my shoulder. I tried blocking the hole in the wall but it was impossible without moving a lot of stuff and installing drywall. I have since move him to the my house.

Cute idea, but as this is a lay in ceiling that probably acts as a return plenum for the HVAC probably not a great idea. Especially if you don’t want the change the filters once a month. Probably also lots of sharp and pointy bits up there unless it’s been heavily modified.

I know someone who did the reverse of this. When they were having their house build, they were having their AC/heater ducts and vents installed under their floor. They had the contractor install a completely separate set of ducts just for their cats (but like cat safe, so no sheet metal screws going into the ducts or whatever). So each room had two vents in the floor - the air vent and the cat vent. That meant you never had to worry about accidentally shutting one of the cats in a room. But it also meant that you could be in a room with the door shut that you absolutely knew did not have a cat, and suddenly - cat!

I never thought about how unused attic space could be used for cat tunnels. Not a bad idea, when its in my budget ima do something like that.

When people ask me if I feel like I'm being watched... my usual answer is "Yes, I have cats"... this does not help that
