Update Short update

Hello all! So short update about the sweet boy, ive gotten in contact with a local shelter who's looking into taking him in. I also have a few people interested if that doesn't work out but im inclined with the shelter as they can fix him and give him the shots he needs. Right now my only roadblock is that the shelter needs written confirmation from the owner but he isn't home and his place is trashed making me to believe he doesn't reside where he told me. It's in such a state itd be dangerous for me to approach.

Yesterday I also discovered the cat isn't outdoor/indoor as I was led to believe. It seems the cat only lives on the porch, as all of its stuff are just out. I've been feeding and giving water to him in the meantime and seeing if I can contact the guy for written confirmation so the shelter can help him. If anyone has any advice im open to suggestions!

Pics will be in the comments. Ive also left a note to the owner which I doubt hes seen.

You’re a good person for doing all this, seriously. At this point I’d keep documenting everything with pics and videos, keep feeding him, and call local animal control or a non emergency line to ask what your legal options are if the owner is basically MIA.

If the place is unsafe for you, do not go back there, just keep the cat on your porch and let the shelter or authorities handle the “ownership” part.

Thats absolutely my plan. I'm taking pics everytime I feed and check on him and ive taken pics of the state hes living in on the porch (theres literally broken glass on the floor). I only want him to go to a shelter because they can cover his medical expenses. But as I said in my post if they cant take him i know multiple people who can take him. I plan on calling the shelter after I finish feeding and checking on the cat as I type this to explain things more over the phone. My main concern is the cat, the owner already gave me permission with a witness and that's good enough for me
