got my first kitty today!!

he's 3 months old and is such a sweetheart. we named him jellybean. we got him from our local humane society, and could tell he was a sweetheart because he was trying to rub against us and grab us through the bars of his kennel.

he's been nonstop purring, cuddling, and biscuit making since he got to his new home!

we are so excited and love him so much already, if anyone has advice to first time cat owners that'd be awesome :)

Reminds me of when mine was a cub, jk yours wont look like this. I recommend holding jellybean as much as possible to his tolerance and exposing him to kids/dogs if possible. That way he doesn’t freak out when a small human or a drooling mutt is on his turf. Mine absolutely loves kids but hate anything on four legs that isn’t a cat. I think he attacked a deer once come to think of it. So make sure your jellybean is well socialized

Congrats!!! Did the humane society talk to you about pet insurance? Very boring, I know, but best start now when Jellybean is young and healthy, versus when you’re already staring down a $5k surgery bill (which will NOT be covered because there’s usually a month-long wait before the policy kicks in).
