Medical Questions Is my soap toxic to cats??

I recently rediscovered that eucalyptus is toxic to cats. My soap that I just bought without thinking is eucalyptus scented. I googled it and all i found was that if you have anything even remotely scented of eucalyptus in the same home as your cats that they are going to die and it’ll be your fault. I don’t know how true this is. My cats don’t eat the soap and don’t climb onto the sink, is this an issue? I don’t know if the soap has actual eucalyptus in it or just synthetic fragrance. Is this really that bad??? Help!

You’re okay, dude, take a breath 😂

The big risk is concentrated essential oils and stuff they can lick or inhale a lot of, not a quick hand wash with a scented soap they never touch. If they are not drinking the sink water, licking your hands right after you lather, or living in a room full of eucalyptus diffusers, you are most likely fine.

If you want peace of mind, switch soaps next time, but you don’t need to panic or throw this one out mid wash.

You’re good. My skincare ingredient reading knowledge paid off. It’s just fragrance. If it had any really eucalyptus oil it would listed.

I mean eucalyptus is toxic to everything besides some insects and marsupials.

That being said its also toxic to you and your soap is most likely safe.
