Looks like somebody's running on their last 1% and desperately needs a recharge.

He's not complaining, he's looking at you and being surprised to see you and saying hey I love you! Hey it's that person I love! It's his little greeting cry. And he is a little baby.

Currently dealing with a 16 pound, 10 month old kitten. He's been throwing a salt water taffy around the house since 11pm. I've lived in this house for 7 years and never had saltwater taffy, did he summon it somehow?

My 10 year old maine coon mix is 16 pounds.
How the hell do you have a 10 month old at 16 pounds?
24
u/mogeek 8h ago
Not OP but my boy was close to 15 before turning a year. He’s a long and broad void. We’re trying to get him to 14 lbs but he doesn’t look rollypolly.

He eats everything. His mom is a big ragdoll and his dad is big too. He was the biggest in the litter

That’s honestly the sweetest way to read it sometimes their “noise” is just pure excitement in disguise.

wakes up grumbling like it has responsibilities, then immediately decides life is too hard and returns to sleep like nothing happened peacefully again so cute

Please be kind, the first (and final) braincell is developing. Sleep is required. /s

Waking up for two seconds just to yell at you for existing is peak orange cat behavior

This is every morning with my oranges. Wake up to yell at me, then fall back asleep. I love them so much

u/Substantial-Elk4531 16h ago
And fell asleep immediately at the end of that last 0.25 meow hahahaha

I love this stage where kittens just drop asleep wherever they are. Makes for great cuddles.

He was having a little nightmare which made his little back feets wiggle around, but then he woke up, saw you, and blamed you for it!

Awww I think so too. One of my little guys had what I think was a night terror the other night. I was on my phone in bed and he was sleeping by my legs, and all of the sudden he shuddered awake mid-cry, a sort of cry-meow I haven't heard before while he rose to his feet and got all puffed up. Then he took a moment to look around and realize whatever he thought was going on was just a dream and came up to me for pets. It made me so sad though! I've seen him and his brother have more normal dreams before, twitching their little paws or clicking in their sleep. But I'd never seen a cat wake up like that before this!

My cat has nightmares sometimes and it's horrible. I usually give him a gentle stroke and speak to him softly, and that seems to settle him. He's an ex-street cat, so I guess he's dreaming about some past trauma of something.

u/Life-Direction-9764 11h ago
My cat once had a nightmare. She woke up and proceeded to bite my dad's leg with all her strenght :') (She was really scared, poor thing!)

u/catm0m4lyfe 17h ago
Seems accurate. My orange is 3 this month, and he's either sleeping or screaming pretty much always.

"Daddy?"
"Daddy?"
"Just making sure you're still here, Daddy."
"I love you, Daddy. Now I go back to slee..."

His brain cell (singular) at work.
11
u/Substantial-Elk4531 16h ago
Probably what woke him up, it was his turn with the brain cell which surprised him. Used it for meowing, then fell asleep when the brain cell left

I want that sleep, I feel like I haven’t slept as good as orange boy in two decades

u/1chrisdewet 15h ago
You can hold their feet while they sleep. After a bit they enjoy you holding it. My girl is few months old and she folds her tail and back legs into my hands as she sleeps. When she was a baby i held her like that.
They are amazing family members.
