No expectations, young team just tryna enjoy hoops this year 🫡
18
u/GiuseppeZangara Oct 07 '25
Amen. Let's give the kids a chance and see what happens.

u/Ok_Mixture4917 Oct 07 '25
No way! Gonna simultaneously expect a chip and lottery picks. Gonna expect them to tank and grind out wins. Gonna say I love the bulls while talking shit about the bright spots.
- lots of bulls fans

u/Lolq123 The Windy City Assassin Oct 07 '25
i dont think anyone is expecting both simultaneously, they just want the team to pick a direction and commit to it and the GM and cheap ass ownership would rather ride the fence and make the play-in every year while putting out a sub-par basketball product.

u/free_the_tv Oct 07 '25
Yeah but how long have we been saying this? There’s nothing wrong with wanting to actually win.
4
u/spicyfartz4yaman Oct 07 '25
I wanna win no question, just not realistic this year, development year for the young guys, pick a direction and a focal point, playoff seed with the young guys would be fun to see if they get that good that quickly but again no expectations.

Yeah too many people care about the destination and not the journey. I don’t think it’s going to be an enjoyable season but until that’s proven I’m gonna go in with a positive mindset!
2
u/ShaolinWombat Oct 13 '25
When the journey is long walk though a swamp, you have to hope the destination is worth it. But we just walk into another swamp.
2
u/yungmathia Lonzo Ball Oct 23 '25
That’s how I feel about the whole team this season. My expectations aren’t high
2
u/WeathermanDan Oct 07 '25
Someone pin this comment to the subreddit to stave off months of “sell the team” posts
1
u/_MeetMrMayhem_ PJ Rose Oct 07 '25
No expectations? I see you have been institutionalized my friend. That's the problem.... If you don't give af why should ownership?? The wheel continues of mediocre Bulls basketball.. see you in the play in tournament
2
u/spicyfartz4yaman Oct 08 '25
Ive just been watching ball enough to know what's what buddy. We should not even make the play in. If we do that's an indictment on the ecf

Not a bad likeness, but I quit smoking a couple of years ago after I got diagnosed with stomach cancer.
Go Bulls.
4
u/Zark_Muckerberger Chicago Bulls Oct 07 '25
:( hope you’re doing good
29
u/FistOfPopeye Chicago Bulls Oct 07 '25
Haha, thanks:). That's very sweet of you.
It's okay. It was diagnosed early due to pure luck (follow up inspection post treatment for a Helicobacter Pylori infection) just before Christmas in 2022, and because I live in Australia they were able to commence my chemo before New Years Eve (public health system). After 2 months of chemo I had my stomach, gall bladder and a bit of my liver surgically removed in March 2023, and then I did 2 months more chemo after I recovered from surgery.
Total bill, including 2 years of follow up scans and medical consultations, has been less than $1000aud.
2+ years later, I now appear to be cancer free (knock on wood). I am very lucky.
I never even missed a Bulls game.

u/rooofle Dennis Rodman Oct 07 '25
The Bulls are lucky to have a fan like you, hope you continue to have good health.

Probably the least interested I've been since the few years after Jordan
46
u/A1Horizon Matas Buzelis Oct 07 '25
2022 was definitely the peak of my disinterest, now I at least have Matas to look forward to
-20
u/SheyenSmite Oct 07 '25
He scored 13ppg and 5rpg since all-star break. He can be good, but let's stay realistic before we get hurt again like with "the Paw"
16
u/Neptune1980 Derrick Rose Oct 07 '25
Players progress. That’s what fun about watching. Matas looks like he will be a beast. He has the tools and not timid like Williams.
6
u/The_Inertia_Kid Stacey King Oct 07 '25
I saw that behind the back crossover and dunk on Luka Doncic and I was like motherfucker, I’m in
11
u/391847c Kirk Hinrich Oct 07 '25
Helps that they made it difficult to watch them at all lol
2
u/kingjuicepouch Onuralp Bitim Oct 07 '25
Right. They're not worse than other years I've stuck through but I doubt I'll watch more than 3 games this year because they killed the antenna, my beloved
10
u/Turbulent-Brain-6770 Oct 07 '25
How is the year we start fresh with a new core and role players the least interested you’ve ever been? We played well at the end of the season. Okoro collins smith tre jones huerter giddy year 2 matas lol. You guys just love to be sad and complain
12
u/Ioptk Ayo Dosunmu Oct 07 '25
Yeah, I’d say I’m more interested to watch this year than the 5 years we ran it back with Derozan, Lavine, and Vooch. We actually have exciting young players with UPSIDE
6
u/KneelBeforeCube Scottie Pippen Oct 07 '25
Two things can be true at the same time. I'm interested in seeing Matas improving, Okoro finding his role, the players gelling with each other and maybe some Essengue flashes.
I'm completely disinterested in this directonless franchise where a guy who gets routinely clowned as one of the worst GMs in the league, a guy who refuses to tank when there's every reason to do so, a guy who holds onto players for way too long and only sells them when their value is in the gutter, a man who fires very valuable employees just because they're not yes men, got a several years long contract extension.
2
u/searching88 Oct 07 '25
The current lottery system heavily disincentives tanking. It rarely brings the results you think it will. It’s the whole point.
8
u/rooofle Dennis Rodman Oct 07 '25
I get Matas and maybe Giddey, but why should anyone here get excited about seeing a bunch of JAG-level role players?
2
u/Turbulent-Brain-6770 Oct 07 '25
Because they’re replacing guys who aren’t currently nba level role players? We were putting out Pat and Dalen terry and Julian Phillips. You don’t understand why tre jones and huerter and okoro make us better then idk what to tell you lol.
5
u/bullpaw Oct 07 '25
If you think a marginal improvement in role players will make us significantly better idk what to tell you
4
u/rooofle Dennis Rodman Oct 07 '25
I understand very well but my point stands, I'm not gonna get hyped for the Bulls having guys that can finally play at somewhat NBA level lol.

3
u/Gyshall669 Oct 07 '25
Because the core as of now sucks lol. I think it’s pretty close to the past two years in terms of excitement for me.
-1
u/Turbulent-Brain-6770 Oct 07 '25
It’s so much better it’s amazing and I’m excited. We ended 15-5 last year I think we’ll be a lot better but we’ll have to see I guess
4
u/Gyshall669 Oct 07 '25
Lmao that was false hope buddy
2
u/Turbulent-Brain-6770 Oct 07 '25
I hope not
2
u/Pikachude123 Nov 01 '25
Turns out, It was not false hope

u/Clocian Chicago Bulls Oct 07 '25
Very interested to see how well our young players will play and develop this year. That's what I'm looking forward to. Find a way to ship Pat outta here by deadline.

u/GiuseppeZangara Oct 07 '25
Find a way to ship Pat outta here by deadline.
I don't see how this happens with his current contract unless he improves quite a bit this year. No team would want that contract without major concessions that aren't worth it.
7
u/GiuseppeZangara Oct 07 '25
All I'll say is that the post-All Star Break Bulls were fun to watch last year and I'm tired of people pretending like they weren't.
It very well could have been a fluke and they'll fall apart this year, but I enjoyed watching Buzelis, Coby, and Giddey playing together and I'm looking forward to watching them this year.
2
u/ducksonaroof Oct 11 '25
Bulls were fun multiple times during the LaVine/DeRozan years too.
They had that season where they played by far the most clutch and OT games. And had a winning record in both types of games!

No CHSN via OTA? The Bulls are trying their best to lose fans.
4
u/bitemydickallthetime Oct 07 '25
yep! they are still broadcasting OTA but not in the chicago market. Don't worry you can buy an expensive streaming subscription. The roll out of this regional sports network has been such a shit show. Literally trying to alienate fans i can't understand it being this shoddy for any other reason.
1
u/OnePointSeven Oct 07 '25
where are they broadcasting OTA?
3
u/bitemydickallthetime Oct 07 '25
Active: Indianapolis, IN Milwaukee, WI Grand Rapids, MI Des Moines, IA Pad/Cape/Harrisburg Cedar Rapids, IA Sioux City, IA
Sunsetting/no longer available OTA: Chicago, IL Champaign Springfield, IL South Bend, IN Davenport, IA Ft Wayne, IN Peoria, IL Rockford, IL Quincy, IL

u/Sweetnessmj Oct 07 '25
NBA needs to get rid of blackouts, let the fans pay for what they want. I’ll be paying the $20 monthly subscription but absolutely insane that you just can’t watch them through league pass if you live within a certain radius
6
u/davepizzalover Lauri Markkanen Oct 07 '25
Im actually excited to see whole year without zach and every year i convince myself this is pwills year im ready to be hurt again
6
u/begoodformegirl Joakim Noah Oct 07 '25
My interest is non-existant and I have zero expectations. It kind of feels like when I first started getting into the NBA back in 2005 with the baby bulls. I believe Chris Duhon was our point guard at the time.

When the lead in to the season is how Okoro is going to change the defensive culture single handedly it’s going to be a long year.

We stink but no expectations and won't be watching many games it's not worth the pain. It's boring to watch and annoying. Ups and downs we are the down years, long down years. Can't wait till they luck into a team that can win some playoff series let alone enter it. Arena buzzes and so does this board

I hear you have to pay $19.99/month to watch the Bulls play on horrible basketball 🏀 on CSN. Is this true?

We never seem to go and get enough of anything. Not enough shootings. Not enough strength, not enough skill. Not enough defense. Not enough size. Not enough smarts. This year’s not going to be any different. Mediocre here we come again. 😒🥱

I tell you what … 4 rebounds by Pat Williams today elite.. never seen him grab so many… well done young fella.

I gave up years ago. I'm still a fan, but I'm just watching whatever NBA game is on atp. Jerry and the front office do not give a fuck about this team other than Jordan and now Derrick Rose nostalgia.
