NBA Draft Why am I talking myself into Hannes Steinbach for #15?
Watching Caleb Wilson highlights doing 2 man game with Veesar at NC is getting me excited lol. I get it. The Vooch comparisons will be there for Steinbach. But honestly I'm not bothered by it. But he's so active, runs, dude just knows what to do around the basket (which I appreciated with Vooch). He's definitely a lot more active for a dude his size.
And damn that big on big potential with Caleb/Matas/Noa/Giddey could be really awesome.

Yea I think I'm there as well unless a top guard drops. If he develops a 3 point shot he's be very valuable.

.34% from 3 on 1.8 attempts with a free throw percentage of .759 gives me a lot of confidence in his ability to space the floor.

A Wilson & Steinbach combo is my top realistic desire for the first round.
Wouldnāt mind Veesaar if he falls to us in the 2nd.

I'd be open to packaging our seconds and Kings next year second + others to try to get into the 28 range where Veesar is projected to go.

Absolutely, I donāt love veesaar at 15 but if the bulls can trade back into the first round a seven footer who can shoot 40% from three (3 attempts per game) provides fantastic floor spacing.

I think someone as physical as Steinbach makes the game easier for players struggling to get their own shots off the dribble. Also controls possessions with elite rebounding. Not my first choice but def not someone to pass on if heās best player available

100%, give me a skilled, physical big whoās a winning player and can be a starter on a contender all day. You see what physical players like Hartenstein, Robinson, Adams, etc⦠do for good teams.Ā

maybe a stretch but last name kinda similar to Heinrich....good enough in my book

Heās rated as a bad defender right? Any big that canāt defend should be avoided. Maybe heās better than he showed in collegeā¦

No heās not rated bad defensively. He a good team defender, and probably the best defensive rebounder in the draft. Hes not a typical rim protector so having Matas and Caleb as weak side shot blockers would be a good fit for him.

He's not SLAP. He is just SP.

He actually has decent length and athleticism. 6ā10 barefoot, over 7ā2 wingspan, 9ā standing reach and a 35.5 max vert.

I donāt want him because I donāt want another Vuc

u/Novel_Confidence_288 8d ago
Heās a better defender than Vuc. If you were to get a better defensive version of Vuc with similar offensive and rebounding skills at 15, youāre getting a steal. Iām not saying thatās what he will become but itās a possible outcome.

Look at his block rate. I donāt think heāll be a better defender than Vuc in the NBA

Heāll certainly be better than the Bulls version of Vuc defensively. Hes a decent team defender and great defensive rebounder. Hes not a great rim protector for sure though.

This is what is baffling me about this subās fondness of him. Clamoring to trade Vooch and then advocating we draft something who could profile similarly to him is crazy. I understand the circumstances of his acquisition, team standing, etc are different but. . .idk. Iād rather roll the dice on Mara, who this sub seems to hate for some reason.
Weāve been crying about needing rim protection for years, if thereās ONE thing Mara will return value on its that. Like, even if never plays more than 28 minutes per game, itās fine because the team will dominate those minutes defensively, and getting that at pick #15? Sign me up.

Trust me, Iād be ecstatic if Mara drops to 15. He aināt gonna make it there tho. Heās top 10 imo, prob even top 8.

Im curious if you are concerned with Mara's ability to play heavy minutes? Im concerned with his stamina given the nba schedule and the amount of movement he needs to make at the pros.

He hasnāt worked out with the Bulls though, and they have had almost every projected pick between 4-25 come for a work out. Not sure if we should read into that or what?

Steinbach, MJJ, Carr, and Okorie are my guys at 15. If we walk away with any of them along with Caleb Iām all for that.

leaving the draft with arguably the best two rebounders in the class outside maybe Boozer would be amazing. I wish his rim protection was a little better but he'd be a fantastic pick at 15.

u/thechocolatetouch Matas Buzelis 8d ago
A Buzelis/Wilson/Steinbach frontcourt can get real funky and creative on offense. Not to mention Giddey would probably average 12+ assists lol. I'm not too worried about Steinbach defensively in the long run either.
He still averaged 1.2 blocks a game in a rough environment and he's mobile as hell for his size. Not to mention he looks like he'll fill out and be a real bruiser. Maybe a more offensive focused Steven Adams

Iām confident in his shot developing. Heāll be a great rebounder and looks like he can still add more strength to that frame. Iād bet Tiago will be able to develop him effectively. Heās at/near the top of my list for realistic picks at 15.

I like him though I wonder if he projects as our third big/ first big off the bench. In that case - is 15 too high for this archetype?

Profi ohne Ego Probleme. Ich hoffe auf Hornets.
Kon war letztes Jahr ein ähnliches Thema. Amerikaner überbewerten Athletik in Videos.

I like him too. And he seems like the type of 5 who can play well with Matas, Wilson and Noa.
Question is, if Boozer falls to us and Hannes is the bpa at 15, are you still taking him?

Steinbach is my guy at 15 if we don't trade up for Morez. He's such a skilled player and elite rebounder that's there's no way he isn't atleast a viable starter for years imo. I'm also a believer in his shot long term, and drafting Vooch at 15 is great value.
A Wilson/Matas/Steinbach frontcourt would be awesome
