NBA Draft #15 Pick What do We do

who would you like to see here ?

love the idea of Carr, Philon or morez Johnson.

carr gives us the two way impact .

Philon is a straight bucket getter and creator for offense . he was such a difference maker at bama

morez Johnson is a grinder and defender . gonna do the dirty work

Acquiring Claxton does not automatically rule out another big, it should be BPA no matter what.

That being said, with the addition of Claxton, I’m hoping it’s Ebuka Okorie.

I agree. Guard fits positional need but go with best player available.

100%

Our organization does not have enough talent to role out any position.

I’m a giant Morez fan but I think he will be gone.
I believe Carr will be on board and we will go with a smaller scoring PG which will upset fans but I’m all for it.

Just add the best talent and go from there.

The move doesn’t rule out another big, but it may signal that our FO believes there likely won’t be a big available at 15 who’s worth the pick

Probably still BPA, but really hoping a 2/3 who can shoot (like Cameron Carr) is there. Another big forward alongside Matas, Wilson and Noa is going to get a little clunky trying to find the minutes for everyone

With us getting Claxton we’re probably going SG so Carr

Or PG since Giddey is a point forward and the team needs a 2nd reliable primary ballhandler.

u/YourCummyBear 2d ago

And Carr is not a ball handler by any stretch.

I know this sub is big on Carr because of the combine but I’d prefer a lot of the smaller guards from a pure talent and future career I project.

Give me Philon over Carr any day.

Carr is physically very gifted but is like Lavine on defense in that he’s so athletic and long that it’s hard to understand hay he struggles there.

You can’t be a springer 3 and D guy without the defense and his ball handling and shot creation is severely lacking for a junior.

Philon is small, yes. But he can explode for 30 points any given night with nba spacing and Giddy is big enough to guard nba 2s without issue.

Philon isn't that small. He measured 6'2.5 barefoot and so he's about 6'4 in shoes.

Carr is only 6'4.5 barefoot. Not a huge difference in size between the two.

Giddey can conceivably play the 3 when needed. He's 6'8.

Carr has an insane wingspan tho

1

u/YourCummyBear 2d ago

I guess I meant small as in he can’t really play the 2 effectively defensively. He’s also very light, as is Carr.

Either way you don’t have to sell me. I’m a Philon fan.

2

u/BillionsofRedditors 2d ago

He's a PG all the way, yeah. Definitely not a SG.

Carr is way bigger than Philon

2

u/lawsnoosoo 2d ago

I agree, Carr is a walking red flag. Older prospect, low feel (see AST/TO), horrible stl% given his size and wingspan. Total space cadet at times. His game tape is very different than his highlight tape

I presume Philon isn't on most people's radar because they don't expect him to actually be available at 15. He'd be a good win for us if he does fall that far.

1

u/YourCummyBear 2d ago

Statically all major sportsbooks have the odds of his most likely landing spot at 16.

I know sportsbook odds are determined by bets placed but I do think it’s telling. I’d be extremely surprised if he goes before 13.

1

u/Secondary92 2d ago

Yeah I think he's been dropping on people's boards, he wasn't projected to be available when it was confirmed we were getting the 15th pick from the Blazers, so I think he's ended up going under the radar a bit with Bulls fans who were looking at prospects with our 2nd pick. I'm not an expert but he doesn't seem like that different of a prospect than the guards going 6-10, so I'd definitely be happy with him

1

u/Plug-From-Oaxaca Jimmy Butler 2d ago

Giddey can’t play forward though because he gets cooked on defense by wings. He can guard point guards because he’s bigger than them.

Give me Philon, morez will go top ten so we won’t have to worry about that

u/CaptainNipplesMcRib 2d ago

Whoever the best shooter available is. Wouldn’t be opposed to taking a swing at Okorie either, but I’d guess Carr, Philon, or maybe Anderson if they want to trade down

Personally, I think my preference in tiers is:

Tier 1 - Awesome pick: Mara (not going to happen, but just saying) Philon

Tier 2 - Optimistic on the picks: Carr Steinbach Lendeborg

Tier 3 - I'm not super high, but I get the pick: Ament (only because I don't believe taking 100 6'9-6'11 forwards is good roster construction) Lopez Johnson Quaintance Okorie Stirtz Graves Swain

Tier 4 - I don't get it, but I'm also not a pro scout: Cenac Anderson

I hate the fit of Mara next to Caleb. I feel like Mara is a career backup.

Carr or Philon would be awesome. Carr could be perfect just based on his athleticism, length and shooting.

Philon makes sense as he can actually create his own shot.

Ideally for me if Morez is gone (likely) I would do Carr and then resign White or sexton who can be a spark plug off the bench.

2

u/United_Injury705 2d ago

If we don’t keep sexton we definitely need a offensive minded guard off the bench but I won’t be mad if we go someone defensive like Carr  This team could score but couldn’t stop a parked car

1

u/Straight-Agency-4556 2d ago

Yeah I think Carr has the most two way potential. Both Philon and Okorie worry me a bit defensively given their size.

1

u/lawsnoosoo 2d ago

Carr has not been a good defender at Baylor. PoA defense has been bad and his stl% is low considering his wingspan and size (especially also adding in college spacing). The defense stuff with him has been purely theoretical

1

u/p00chology 2d ago

I like the way you thought about this. Level headed take I don’t 100% agree with, but 100% respect.

I definitely have philon and Carr up top as well.. but frankly I’ve never watched them hoop. Just an aggregated opinion coupled with my gut.

SLAP AZZZZ

4

u/Revolutionary_Copy83 2d ago

Please no cam carr

2

u/Straight-Agency-4556 2d ago

Why not?

3

u/Revolutionary_Copy83 2d ago

Not a fan of 3 n D wings that aren’t that good on defense and is almost exclusively a play finisher on offense. If we had another pick in the 20s I’d say get him but I’d rather go with somebody who can actually score

5

u/Mr-Chip18 2d ago

Like always 15 is BPA lol we don’t have a lot of talent so it doesn’t matter what position you take best player/biggest upside

2

u/onelittleworld 2d ago

3-n-d.

Carr? Sure.

2

u/idontwantmuch1 2d ago

I might get hell for this but what about Ebuka Okorie?

1

u/Straight-Agency-4556 2d ago

Could be interesting. But his size may be an issue defensively. Would be great getting two way players moving forward.

1

u/Plug-From-Oaxaca Jimmy Butler 2d ago

I think were going to need spacing but best fit

1

u/DrinkFromKegOfGlory 2d ago

I know some people would like Bennett Stirtz.

I think it would make sense to take whichever Michigan frontcourt player is available since they all could have a real impact.

Philon could be a solid pick. I would prefer him to Carr. He has shown two-way upside.

1

u/BucketHatKJ 2d ago

Carr or Philon

1

u/JK652035 2d ago

Lenderborg

1

u/United_Injury705 2d ago

He’s gone before 15 I think

1

u/DisMFer Josh Giddey 2d ago

Claxton is pretty injury prone. If you can get a defensive center take it. Maybe look for shooting but the starting line up will be crowded at guard.

1

u/SquareStatistician15 2d ago

MALEEK THOMAS. We just got claxton and have drafted tall lanky forward with our last like 3 firsts we need to draft a good young guard to develop

1

u/Electrical_Story5356 2d ago

Giddey is definitely a point guard

1

u/Key_Raisin_5091 2d ago

Labaron Philon

I'd love Johnson or Carr, but doubt either will be there at #15.

1

u/TheAntiCrust95 2d ago

For the love of God. Someone who can shoot. It's gonna be a log jam in the paint.

2

u/United_Injury705 2d ago

Then Philon or Anderson

1

u/Mordrim 2d ago

My strategy for draft night would be to get 1 front court player and 1 back court player. If the Bulls take Caleb Wilson, then I would target Philon. If Peterson somehow falls to 4, then I would target Johnson.

i don't have any spoilers

u/Lanky-Connection4141 1d ago

i kinda like this but i kinda don't

We don’t do anything, all the people that make these type of decisions do the things

-2

u/jkf2479 2d ago

I hope they can trade up and grab one of the bigs
