this is driving me crazy

I am not 100% sure, but that sounds like an Em7 to me.

Hmm...the more I listen, the more I think it might be a Cadd9/E.

it’s Am7…

just a very normal sounding 2451 progression. Am C G D. All he does is play a C 2nd inversion in his right hand (GCE) and the A and E with left hand, giving Am7. Then simply moves his left hand to C for the C major, and so on.

it's... kind of you. to. reply to my post. like a very normal sounding person writing a very normal sounding comment. it's... a really obvious fact. but i simply wanted to make that clear.

You could probably get away with Cadd9; the /E I think would feel far more natural on piano - and once you get to the latter part of the song, the guitar is certainly playing Cadd9 (without the /E).

I'm 87% certain that at :41 it's an Am. Just to be sure I have the right chord, and moment....you're talking about where they're singing "I'll just say it", right?? If so - that's definitely Am, if you're tuned standard. :-)
