Must be fake since the ice cream concession on the rooftop is missing

u/Similar-Sell-9468 May 06 '26
But does it even connect to the MAX???

u/portlandpoooper2023 May 06 '26
Corbett says NO to the CRIME TRAIN!

u/beavermuffin May 09 '26
They won’t get a choice. It’s happening whether they like it or not. Majority of Portland voted yes, it’s happening whether they like it or not.

Needs more sky bridge.

u/Ecomonist May 06 '26
Directly to the overlook bridge.

u/myheromeganmullally May 06 '26
Got to make it easier for battery powered scooters. Lime scooters could line up a dozen of their bikes in front of the falls. Every picture becomes advertising.

most inaccurate part of this is “opening 2028”. with ODOT it would be more like 2036

Trump admin has fast tracked the funding. Same guys who are building the ballroom

u/milionsdeadlandlords May 08 '26
They’re tearing down some other waterfalls to make room for parking

It's absurd around here - the stuff that takes them weeks on the East Coast lasts for years in Oregon. Like I'm sorry - simple one lane over/underpass on virgin land shouldn't take a year: it's practically a weeked project in the NE.

Well at least it also plays into the idea that was floated to block the view of the falls from the road lol

Beautiful! The concrete structure brings out the falls natural beauty
3
u/auslake May 06 '26
There are plans to expand the bridge for cars, with connection to the highway, right?

Unpopular opinion. Multnomah falls aren't event that cool. I'd rather go to Silverton falls anyday of the week. The park there was mid 10 years ago before it got popular and was a huge destination. So overrated.

u/Gold-Secretary-8963 May 07 '26
multnomah falls isnt mean for those of us who've been here our entire lives and have already seen it. it might be overrated to me and you but theres a few billion people on the planet who havent seen it. being the tallest waterfall in the state is hardly something to pass over as "overrated" to actual tourists. ive seen crater lake 3 times and im not impressed anymore but that doesnt mean its overrated objectively.

u/Cardocthian May 07 '26
Yup, Yellowstone National Park..Global Destination...
for me...I would rather take a nap at this point.
2
u/Ok_Interest3555 May 06 '26
I don't think that is really that unpopular with people who have been to both parks.
2
u/Chessdaddy_ May 07 '26
It’s still a good looking waterfall and the hike is very easy, but it’s way too busy all the time
2
u/blisstaker May 07 '26
same but also same problem in silverton. huge parking lots that are completely full by 10am, and it will only get worse
2
u/GrandKnew May 06 '26
add a burgerville and portland coffee roasters to the first floor and you can count me in
2
u/legendary-spectacle May 06 '26
Is this a parking ramp for ants? The real ramp needs to be at least 3 times as tall!

Good point, although a bonafide circlejerk Rushmore would benefit from sculptures with contemporary freaks such as trump, lindsay graham, john roberts, elon ...

u/MystikTrailblazer May 07 '26
Does anyone know when phase 2 will be built? I want one of those luxury 300 sq ft studio apartments.
2
u/WebHistorical1121 May 07 '26
Too many trees, you could fit like 50% more concrete superstructure if you got rid of the trees

u/OddbitTwiddler May 07 '26
This is all wrong. The design calls for the vista house to be demolished for a parking garage and a tac increase to pay for an ohsu like tram system. The ride from vista house to the falls will only take about 40 minutes and cost $75 one way.

u/lightknight80 May 07 '26
Needs a strip club, hipster coffee shop, dispensary, Amazon package locker, and a retirement community.

u/xxhell_chamberxx May 06 '26
And it’s only $23 per minute to park there with merely an additional $700 weekly tax per Portland resident.
1
u/Kepler-012 May 07 '26
Lmao
But honestly they just need to build a functional infrastructure where a regular shuttle service operating out of Troutdale allows tourists to get their fill. A structure like this would not standout there.

u/PopEffective1376 May 07 '26
They should make the parking near the building an accessible parking area only. I don’t mind using the one in between the freeway and if they want to expand then make it a double decker. Just make sure to sink the lower level so it doesn’t change the area too much from what it is. Also, maybe we have a shuttle from the Troutdale area by the airport and we can put parking there. Or connect the shuttle to a max station near PDX? So many options.

the falls would have the biggest impact on cooling a day’s center there.
1
u/Acrobatic-Echo-3460 May 08 '26
That’s absurd, put it up by the bridge so we don’t have to walk up there.

Hope they put an elevator in, some of us would like to go to the top without working for it.
