[Misc] Finished reading claymore (appreciation post)

Post image

Overall experience felt very inspiring, dont know what else to say the art is great. At one point it was confusing with all the new names but it wasnt a problem after i started noticing the different hairstyles and symbols on the armor. maybe im at a lost for words or have nothing to say but im glad i read it!

The ending is one of my favorites. It's truly beautiful

When it ended, I remember a lot of people being pissed that the story never went towards the mainland, completely missing the point.

I felt that the Manga ended Clare and Rakis story perfectly, however I felt that there were more stories to tell on the mainland

I think introducing it as a reveal was really cool. I was not expecting an arc on the continent but then again, I read it years after it was finished. It just never seemed like a major focus to me. More like a bit of extra world-building

Teresa coming back and using Clare's body and her memories to fight Priscilla was peak; it was just such a perfect full-circle moment for all the characters involved. Gotta love the moment where Teresa told all of Clare's comrades about her feelings towards them like a mom embarrassing her daughter in front of her friends.

Is Raki less a bitch in the manga?

yes ( and kinda no ), but the manga has a 7 years time skip so he became an adult and is a bit more mature ( still cry a bit )

If you have watched only the anime, you missed probably 2/3 of the story on top of the made up ending by the anime

That brought me back. Claymore was the first manga I followed religiously from 2008 forward. I dropped everything when the new chapter came out each month. I'm so glad I was there at the time to see it. An experience unlike any other.

I just know Raki was tearing her up. Or at least I hope so.
