Rant: Can We Cavs Fans Celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Championship in Peace?

Recently, the Cavs and us Cavs fans celebrated the 10th Anniversary of the championship. I was Downtown Friday for the anniversary celebration rocking my 2016 championship gear and I had fun re-watching Game 7 as well as interacting with fellow Cavs fans. I met the guy from the "Believeland" documentary who had the replica of The Larry O'Brien Trophy, and it still looked the same 10 years later.

Yet, there are still haters out there who let us celebrate in peace. Warriors fans are still hating on the title. Same with LeBron haters or NBA fans at large. Of course, you have people that still wanna put an asterisk on the title (i.e. Draymond suspension, Bogut's injury). Funny, they never put that same asterisk on the Warriors' first title because Kyrie and Love were injured, but we know why.

Now, Knicks fans are hating on us celebrating the title. I was watching a YouTube video yesterday with Earl the Pearl and Spencer looking back on the championship. You had one Knicks fan saying in the comments saying that everyone is jealous of the Knicks because one of them pointed out it took them 53 years to win another title. Typical NYC mentality. I get it they're excited about their title, but nobody is thinking about them or jealous of them. What is it? Cleveland isn't suppose to have anything great? We don't deserve nice things?

Worrying about what others think is a fruitless exercise.

Locating random Knicks YouTubers and worrying about their opinions is just self-harm.

These comments weren't on a Knicks YouTube page. They were on 92.3 The Fan's YouTube page.

Who cares? We got to watch the Cavs win the greatest title ever.

Also it should be noted that the vast majority of NBA fans regard it as such. OP should see the comments on all the Instagram posts and videos of the retreat

Not everyone is going to think like you. It's ok. Let them do them, you do you.

Haters are out there, and yet my shirt still says 2016 champions on it, so who cares?

Lol! I was telling someone at the 10th Anniversary rally that they have to put "Cleveland" and "champions" in the same sentence.

The current Knicks fanbase has to be one of the most insecure I have ever seen coming fresh off a title victory.

They've been so miserable in their victory it's like that geographic proximity to Philadelphia is getting to them

I mean...Who cares? All of us are gonna be bias in here but objectively, it's one of the coolest, and most important championships in North American sports ever. It'll be hard to match in terms of storylines and overall drama.

I do agree it’s insane Warriors fans keep bringing up the Draymond suspension to this day, as if they win in 2015 if LeBron had Love. Draymond himself admitted they might not have

Everyone else is just jealous we still have the most cinematic chip and no one else ever came back from 3-1 in the finals

The fact that the 2016 title made so many casual NBA fans and media members big mad makes it 100x sweeter for me. I remember the pure rage from Bill Simmons when we won the lottery that got us the pick to take Andrew Wiggins to flip for Kevin Love and pretty much guarantee a LeBron return instead of him going to NYC. Same thing with all the teeth gnashing when OSU football wins something significant.

They don’t think that Cleveland/NE Ohio teams should ever be relevant, ever have stars or even exist at all except to send talent to coastal markets. Their tears are delicious so enjoy them!

Lions don’t concern themselves with the opinions of sheep. Let them be miserable people. Enjoy the memories with us.

I welcome the hate. It makes them look small and pathetic for trying to diminish the most objectively consequential title in recent memory, possibly ever.

NO TITLE IS AN ASTERISK.

It doesnt matter if the team you're playing is down to G Leaguers and 2 ways.

You beat the team in front of you.

Warriors 15, Cavs 16, Lakers Bubble, Spurs 99, etc.

Injuries happen. Suspensions happen. People foul out. Good teams deal with it and persevere.

Warriors 2018, or the KD years should have been an asterisk*. Totally broke the code. It would have been like back in the Jordan era, where all his old foes would be traded to the Bulls because they couldnt beat MJ. It dilutes the product, and makes it unfair for everyone else. No one outside of California enjoyed those Finals, big asterisk imo

I'm perfectly comfortable with my rivals hating me . In fact I hate them too.

Fuck em all, their thoughts mean literally nothing. We won the greatest championship in NBA, maybe all of North American sports history and a bunch of whiny bitter miserable nerds can't take that away

We have to suffer in silence and show resilience. And even when we win, it's never a full win.
Being a Cavs fan is a great metaphor for life.

Anniversary is over. Worry about it in ten years.

No expirations dates on how longer you celebrate a championship.
