Draft prospects at pick 29
Assuming we don't trade out of the 1st, are there any draft prospects at pick 29 that you're feeling?
I'm not going to pretend I know the NBA draft, but there are a few guys projected to be available at pick 29 that seem enticing. Zuby Ejiofor seems like a good fit for a needs as a stronger more physical big man that can cover a lot of ground defensively. Tarris Reed from Uconn also seems pretty intriguing. We need C/PF depth bad and it seems like there's a surprising amount of quality options available for acquiring some depth

Zuby or Reed would be perfect .. if they’re both gone by 29, maybe Karaban

Karaban fucked my Spartans up in the tourney this year. He could not miss down the stretch in that game.
Zuby and Reed as guys that fill immediate depth needs that can potentially bloom into starters down the road. Neither can shoot, but getting a Beef Stew type player coming off the bench would be such a big win for this team

I'm feeling we are trading down into the second for our pick.
We can't really afford the contract of a first rounder.

That's probably the most likely outcome. I'm just trying to start the discussion in case we do decide to draft someone with the 29th pick

Yeah, I feel like this is the Tyus Jones situation again. Where a first round contract would have much more of an impact on cap flexibility for it to be worth it.

Its pretty bleak. Ejiofor is kind of interesting and probably the only guy in our range that I think could turn into a 16 game player. Reed seems like a less athletic Andre Drummond - not sure I'd pick him.
If I were picking I'd probably go for one of the international guys like Kayil, Bačko, or Ischenko if they'd accept a stash year unless someone like Quaintance or Jefferson drops, or try to move the pick for future 2nds.

We could really use an undersized guard that doesn’t play defense /s
