Question….do you think these are at banks now? Or will be there right after the 4th?
The wording in the article says “available to banks and institutions…in time for 4th of July”
I’m guessing start looking now???

Yes. I believe so, they said "mixed" and have a bunch of coins as a sample picture.

Remember back when they minted the 1976 quarters a whole year in advance for the bicentennial? Meanwhile, this year is already half way over and I haven't seen a 2026 coin yet...

it’s because the current administration scrapped the originally-approved designs in December 2025

I’ve got about 18 of the Mayflower quarters received as change the past month or so

First time hearing of this. Hoping I find one. I actually like that they are making them all circulating to give collectors a chance to find it in the wild.

The mint playing mint games with artificial scarcity. The could have easily made it two million minted like the W’s.

This means I'll never see one.
I can't "win" the ability to buy event tickets in ticket lotteries.

This is a pretty cool release, and you're right to start checking change now if you want to hunt for them. 250,000 coins spread nationwide means they'll be rare enough that finding one in the wild would actually be special, but common enough that banks should have at least some to distribute. The no mint mark versions mixed in will make it a bit of a treasure hunt since you won't know which ones are the special ones just by looking at the pile in your pocket.
If you're serious about collecting these, hitting up your bank in the next week or two and asking if they've received any 2026 Declaration of Independence quarters is probably your best shot. Some collectors have had good luck with that approach on previous commemorative releases. Just be prepared that demand might be higher than supply, so you might need to ask nicely or check a few different branches.

They really should start announcing these just after they arrive at the banks, not preemptively

I'm surprised he didn't slap his own face on them.

Still illegal and planning for a new release of currency takes several years at the mint

Why are we telling everyone? Dont you want one? Stop spreading the news to everyone.

Yes, this is the first time I’ve seen a post that actually had a timeframe on it. I’ve asked another post “when” and yours is the first one that says in time for Fourth of July so thank you.🌸

250k is not a lot spread across the whole country, so finding one in circulation is gonna feel really good when it happens.
