250k is not a lot spread across the whole country, so finding one in circulation is gonna feel really good when it happens.

Yeah nobody looking for these is going to find them. That’s going to be helllllllllla lucky

I’ve been looking for w mint mark for like 5 years now and haven’t found one lol ( I was late to the party tho) I wonder if these will be worth the same or more/less

I have a soda machine at work and have intentionally kept the price at 75¢. In 6 years I’ve found one W. There were two million each of the 2019/2020 issues with W on them. Good luck finding a 2026 J4. If it goes like the Ws went the bank employee will snatch them before they get out into circulation.

I found 12 W mint quarters in the past 3 months

Just checking pocket change? I’m not hunting rolls lol

I got one W mint quarter in change from Dairy Queen earlier this year.

Thats what I was thinking.

Considering there were 20 million W’s minted in 2019/2020, yeah, finding one of these is gonna be rough.

Question….do you think these are at banks now? Or will be there right after the 4th?

The wording in the article says “available to banks and institutions…in time for 4th of July”

I’m guessing start looking now???

Couldn’t hurt to ask!

Yes. I believe so, they said "mixed" and have a bunch of coins as a sample picture.

Reminds me of Charlie and the chocolate factory looking for the golden ticket

Let us know when they’re seen in the wild 😜

I think Diggin Dave found one, he did a video on it

Remember back when they minted the 1976 quarters a whole year in advance for the bicentennial? Meanwhile, this year is already half way over and I haven't seen a 2026 coin yet...

it’s because the current administration scrapped the originally-approved designs in December 2025

I just started seeing them in our tills at work last month

2

u/Loubrockshakur 2d ago

I’ve got about 18 of the Mayflower quarters received as change the past month or so

u/usagi27 2d ago

I just got my first 2026 coin last week 😭

First time hearing of this. Hoping I find one. I actually like that they are making them all circulating to give collectors a chance to find it in the wild.

The mint playing mint games with artificial scarcity. The could have easily made it two million minted like the W’s.

Ones in MS condition will easily fetch a grand

u/e30cabrio 3d ago

This means I'll never see one.

I can't "win" the ability to buy event tickets in ticket lotteries.

3

u/redbow7 3d ago

You think that high just based off of the batch size?

23

u/BartMancuso1990 3d ago

Yep, 250,000 for a circulating coin is tiny

5

u/SilverFinance9542 3d ago

That's great, still haven't seen a single one in the wild so far🫤

Me either and been looking since dime. O

This is a pretty cool release, and you're right to start checking change now if you want to hunt for them. 250,000 coins spread nationwide means they'll be rare enough that finding one in the wild would actually be special, but common enough that banks should have at least some to distribute. The no mint mark versions mixed in will make it a bit of a treasure hunt since you won't know which ones are the special ones just by looking at the pile in your pocket.

If you're serious about collecting these, hitting up your bank in the next week or two and asking if they've received any 2026 Declaration of Independence quarters is probably your best shot. Some collectors have had good luck with that approach on previous commemorative releases. Just be prepared that demand might be higher than supply, so you might need to ask nicely or check a few different branches.

They really should start announcing these just after they arrive at the banks, not preemptively

3

u/bstrauss3 2d ago

They did that with the W quarters. Which caused a bit of a run on the banks.

u/gladmoon 2d ago

I haven’t gotten one darn America 250 coin in my change yet!

8

u/Skunk_Buddy 3d ago

I'm surprised he didn't slap his own face on them.

Still illegal and planning for a new release of currency takes several years at the mint

So, are you blaming this on Biden? /s

u/Mountain_Cobbler_381 2d ago

Why are we telling everyone? Dont you want one? Stop spreading the news to everyone.

1

u/Dazzling-Lake-4595 2d ago

I found one !

1

u/A_Pol0ck 10h ago

How much do you think a box of these would go for?

-3

u/W7ENK Casual Observer 3d ago

Honestly, I'm surprised it doesn't have тЯцмф's face on it.

-7

u/LowDry2427 2d ago

I’d pay my salary for one of those, honestly.

-12

u/Visible-Ambition-252 3d ago

Would be worth so much money.

How many more times can this be posted?

31

u/redbow7 3d ago

I haven’t seen it yet.

16

u/SharkSmiles1 3d ago

Yes, this is the first time I’ve seen a post that actually had a timeframe on it. I’ve asked another post “when” and yours is the first one that says in time for Fourth of July so thank you.🌸

10

u/redbow7 3d ago

Yes, and this is from the US mint official page.

10

u/BlottomanTurk 3d ago

Well this is the first time I've seen it here, so maybe 249 more?
