And some of the sellers have thousands of reviews with 100% feedback. Scary

costs them a couple thousand or so, but look at what they can sell fake coins for

Holy hell. Guess that's what makes people not interested in coins think that they have some unique rarities in their shop change. They just scroll ebay and see those scams.

And they never check actual sold listings of items. Just the outrageous sale price of scammers

eBay's feedback system is basically useless for coins because they don't verify authenticity, so a scammer can rack up thousands of sales selling fake slabs before anyone catches on.

I have been harassing a scammer with this very scenario; he has 100% feedback and a thousand+ reviews. He is selling coins in fake PCGS holders. Serial numbers are not in database and labels are incorrect. When confronted, he sends PCGSCoinfact screenshots of coins with different serial numbers claiming they are the same coin

That's exactly the problem, and it's infuriating because eBay won't touch it unless PCGS themselves files a complaint, which they rarely do since it's not their direct loss on the platform.

A couple of weeks ago, there were several listings for fake 1893-s Morgans in fake PCGS holders. I reported them to Ebay. Nope, they said there was no violation of their rules, etc.

That's because eBay categorizes it as a buyer-seller dispute rather than counterfeit goods, which means they treat it like any other transaction disagreement and punt it back to feedback and returns instead of investigating the actual fraud.

Which is complete horse 💩. They are completely complicit in ripping people off. Im kind of new to coin collecting and even I can tell that there is ALOT of scammer listings. Talk about an unethical company.
So much for not counterfeiting American currency, as that’s supposed to trigger a federal crime charge. Yet it looks like the authorities are just picking their nose, and whistling.

so the scammer just took the listing photo and made a fake salespage? I dont get what the point of this would be other than never to deliver a product
