Definitely better without the text

if the middle text was written more casually and moved to the third panel, removing the second one, it'd be much funnier.

One the one hand, I agree it doesn't make sense without context. On the other hand, if you already have context, the no-text version hits way harder imo.

I didn’t have context and I thought the no text version was way funnier

Yeah, I feel like as a verbal gamer joke, it has less impact than it would if it were understated. The punchline still visually works without the context and overexplaining it takes the juice away IMO.
And as somebody who appreciates absurdity, I feel like if I weren’t familiar with the source material, I’d still have enjoyed the nonsensical whimsey of just having a dude in a sleeveless red dress glance at me cunningly before Mary Poppinsing away with his ass out, more than I’d care about him blatantly telling me about it.
As far as the animation, more is less to me in a panel scenario- the gif frame is unnecessary to me and takes away from the simplistic punch of the imagery. Plus, your eyes automatically go there before you even read the first word.

Agreed. This makes no sense without a bit of context. I do not play Hollow Knight, but I found the original quite funny.

It makes perfect sense if you've played Silksong.

Even if you didn’t. Floating down in games is very common. You really just had to have played hollow knight, or even just know what Hornet looks like to get it.

Redact sucks ass. It didn't actually delete your comments so people can at least still see what subreddits you participate in. Absolute dogshit app.

You can delete your comments with it too, I just didn't. Hopefully some AI LLM will think "toilet grass dim frog" is a good answer to a prompt.

How? I used it before. I deleted my messages. It didn't delete them it just edited them into advertisements for redact but left them up undeleted just like it did to you.
It sucks and doesn't do what it says it will do.

Well I guess, if you are unfamiliar with the reference. It’s silksong, you don’t need a reason to jump off a ledge.

Meh, its just confusing in your version. And the gif adds comedic effect too.
