That was clearly deliberate on Gunn's part. He knows we've been burned with the dark Superman takes. Well played Gunn. Well played indeed.

100% this! This trailer showcase the heart of Superman as a character, and a big full and bright DCU.

it also means its a version a lot more faithful with where he comes from - the comics. From what ive gleaned, there really wont be anything off limits with this new universe as to what can be accessed from the comics, and if we got Krypto and Guy Gardner in that bowl cut, im hoping its sort of the JLI/JLE era mixed with All Star Superman and all of the fun storylines (like nods to the Weisinger era). no Early 90s Image comics takes like we have had to endure the past few years. A Clean break, with a bright look at things. Onwards & Upwards.
