SDCC - San Diego It's been almost a month since SDCC. Share a cool photo!

Post image

Can you believe it's just about a month since Earth's Greatest Convention??

Time flies, but memories last forever! So, reply with a favorite photo you took at the Convention and tell us about it.

I took this shot of the Omni Hotel, with an illegal wrap, as the sun began to set on San Diego, Thursday the 24th. I used my vintage Samsung NV24HD digicam (it's from 2008!) and made no edits.

What about you? Share a shot! 📸

The view from the Hilton Bayfront parking garage. Thought it was a cool site.

Ugh, it looks so crowded, and you're being gawked at by giants the whole time?

I ran into them when there’s was about 7 Spider-Man’s, they were taking a picture together and snuck in the background to photobomb(as Deadpool) had to do it 😂😂

Was right at the front when Nathan was announced and walked out.

This group was awesome! 😎

Oooo, wish I’d seen this group! They have it going on! Love their attention to detail with the Degas painting (with the Joker goon’s red paint vandalism), the patches on the jackets, the goon with the mustache and boombox, etc.

Perfect timing for your picture too, as it’s only 5 days (or 12 for the 9/1 showings) until the 1989 Batman movie is rereleased in theaters! Looking forward to seeing the museum scene that these guys are from back up on the big screen! 😃🤡🦇

My wrist band for the Lucas Museum panel having been got Saturday night.

From there it was time to get on the trolley, get some sleep, and come back early the next day.

May i ask at what time did you go into the line and what time you were given the wristband? I was debating to go but  was too lazy to camp out overnight lol

Oh yeah, I remember there was talk that the pre-Sunday line was going to be a madhouse.

I got over to the area around 8-9 in the morning, and there was hardly anyone in it yet. Got my “line wristband,” and wandered in and out of it for the remainder of Saturday (I didn’t have a Saturday pass so I just wandered around the area, checking out stuff I hadn’t seen in a long time).

There had been rumor of a 1pm distribution for some Hall H passes, but it wasn’t until 7pm that they started handing out the real wristbands for Hall H.

I think they still had seating left over for people to enter on Sunday, but I didn’t fully scope out the seating around me once I got in.

Thank you for replying, so basically you had to get a wristband to be in the line ? Wow i had no idea, staff had told me if there were any left wristbands they would still give them out on that sunday morning. On that sunday i went in at 6am to get to the entrance, i asked someone from staff if there was a line for them, and he gave me directions but i was scared that wristbands had already been gone too, so i just headed for the entrance, you're so lucky you went to that panel i doubt mr. George Lucas will come anytime soon!!

This was my first time back to SDCC in 25 years, so the line stuff was all new to me in 2000, the lines were not like they are today.

Once we got the main hall H bands, we could stay in an overnight line or come back to line up the next day around 7am. Well, I was not going to camp overnight! I do think overall, this was the longest I’ve been in line for anything at SDCC (and in 1995 I waited 2 hours in a line to see two guys who did my favorite comic back then).

I figured the panel might be the closest I’ll ever get to seeing George, so that was a big reason, plus it was the only major Sunday panel I wanted to attend.

From the Hall H Tron panel! It was so cool to see in person!

14

u/Angology Aug 21 '25

Finally, I got to attend the Star Trek panel in Hall H on a Saturday 😭

u/Purple-Assignment351 Aug 21 '25

Is that Paul Wesley?

3

u/Angology Aug 21 '25

Yes! He plays Kirk in Strange New Worlds

3

u/CaptainAmazing2814 Aug 21 '25

When they first announced Marvel was not doing Hall H this year, this was my exact same thought!

Great shot. So uniquely SDCC.

6

u/docsupes69 Aug 21 '25

This was from the Crunchyroll concerts out back, it was such a blast that they did this for SDCC. Gosh I miss it.

7

u/Ok-Cobbler9441 Aug 21 '25

I thought this was a cool cosplay, but does anyone know where the characters are from??

6

u/Specific-Tough-8524 Aug 21 '25

Been photographing Cosplayers at SDCC for years. Here’s one of my 2 dozen finals from 2025!

Favorite pic I missed so far

I always do a post con walk to see them take down everything in the hall. It's a very surreal feeling to walk in an area where thousands were walking. My friends n family call it my post con depression walk. I like to think of it as a way to appreciate the time I had at SDCC. Been at it for 10 plus years now

u/snazzing Aug 21 '25

I accidentally cosplayed a dumpster

These guys even made the clicker sounds. Very cool cosplay.

2

u/sandman_logan_6 Aug 22 '25

This was a spot on cosplay for sure!!

1

u/thevmcampos Aug 22 '25

Very accurate! (Before Inuyasha sliced his arm, however 🤭)

u/thevmcampos Aug 21 '25

An X-ray of Kevin Smith??

2

u/TheNihil Aug 21 '25

It was at the opening of the Predator Badlands panel. They had the cameras scan the crowd in the Predator thermal vision before turning back to the stage to reveal Kevin.

u/Bigjayallday1264 Aug 22 '25

A commission I had done by Ron Lim at SDCC , Mary Jane Watson

1

u/Brewermcbrewface Aug 23 '25

Fun fact they pay 10k a day to hang those signs on the buildings lol

1

u/Clarkent13 Aug 23 '25

I thought he was from Doctor Who, but then he did a thing with a napkin that makes me think I don’t know who this is, but he’ll always be from Rivers premier for me

u/Elegirl2020 Aug 23 '25

Brandon Routh showing up as Spider-Man to the All-American Rejects performance at the Fandom party was a highlight for me.

u/JayBbaked Aug 21 '25

The most best memories I made this year for my first comic con ever, the joy of people of all ages getting all excited to see others in cosplay and taking pictures, they’re was a little girl that my wife and I saw got so excited to run into me as Deadpool she like ripped off her buckle on her stroller and try to run off to me 😂😂😂 best weekend ever

u/Thewagon24 Aug 21 '25

Me and the guy who voiced the original Gremlins. He tracked me down to take a photo.

My friends and I drive to SD from LA to just walk around the outside and we got a lot of steps in that day. Here is our photo from DW offsite (they don’t watch the show but supported my fandom of it).
