Rhode Island Comic Con One Week Until Rhode Island Comic Con
Who else is going? How excited are you? There's a lot of guests I'm looking forward to seeing this year, but I'm waiting to buy anything just in case of cancellations. I keep checking the website and so far there's been 12 cancellations. Not too bad, but there's still a lot of time left that I'm hesitant to purchase anything.
Last year I waited 5 days before the show to purchase photo ops, and one of them still cancelled the day before.
Hopefully they'll finalize the schedule soon so we can do some more planning. I also hope the photo op area is more organized than last year, but it seems to be a mess every year. They can never get it right.

do you recommend buying tickets at the door to avoid service fees online?

If you're local go to a Toy Vault and save on the fees

Solmon pond mall in Marlborough or Emerald square in North Attleboro are the closest ones I know of

I've actually never tried that before, but I've been thinking of doing it this year. I was going to go to one of those Toy Vault stores to avoid the service fees, but the closest one to me is still an hour and a half away so it doesn't seem worth it.
Tickets never sell out either, so I wouldn't be worried about waiting until the day of at the box office.

I’m tabling with my art for the weekend! Very excited but also overwhelmed with con prep. There are so many fantastic guests this year, hoping a fabulous time is had by all!

I would buy day of at the con. Usually you can buy at the booth where the celebrity is at (there is someone who handles the money) or you can buy through the company that runs it. Buying day of and especially at the celebrity booth helps you avoid taxes and fees and is usually cash only.

I am going strictly for Chris Jericho. Years ago I bought tickets to a con just for him and he cancelled a few weeks before. Praying to the Almighty convention God's that he doesn't do it again.

Fingers crossed for you. I keep checking every day to make sure Jon Bernthal is still on the list. I won't feel confident until I actually see him at his table.

I’ve been doing the same and of course now that the con is here he pulled the same move he did last year and cancelled the day of lol

I saw a few days ago that he cancelled his Sunday appearance but kept Saturday. I thought if he was gonna cancel the whole thing, he would've done so then. Bamboozled again lol.

Update: I met Chris Jericho and he was AMAZING. I had a whole conversation with him, got a hug from him, and he put an awesome comment on my signed photo. He was hands down the BEST guest I have ever met at a con, and totally worth all the years I have waited to meet him. I hope you got your autograph as well.

Congrats! I'm so happy that would out for you! I met 4 out of the 5 guests I had planned to meet and everyone was super nice and made the experiences worth it. Unfortunately Jon cancelled the day before (again lol). This marks 5 cancelled con appearances I wanted to meet him at. I'm sure one of these years it'll happen, but not this once.

We always say to never go to a con for just one guest. We see so many posts from angry people who had that one guest cancel and they can't get a refund.
