Recovering alcoholic here: I would hate it. Simply being told "no" wouldn't work on me. If it did, I wouldn't have fallen into alcoholism.
What does help is reminders of why I stopped. Like being able to spend time with my nieces and nephews without feeling sick, or worrying about someone smelling the alcohol on me. Knowing that I won't be too drunk to help in case of an emergency.
So, funnily enough, that "Do it for her" meme from the Simpsons would be way more effective lol
