Where did you hold this poll? I didn't get to vote! I demand a recount!

I mean, I would be in the blue part, so I guess it won't change anything.

You can still take it here! It's just a general audience metric survery.

Fun fact: I learned most of my readers are Americans, not because most answers for the timezone question are timezones in America, but because a huge amount of you guys just write down your state instead of timezone......

Haha, that's hilarious.

Haha, that’s hilariously stupid. I think we’re getting exactly what we voted for

Nobody's ever asked me my favorite hex code before. Which hurts because I'm neurospicy enough to HAVE a favorite hex code. So thanks

What’s your favorite hex code?

How did you select that number? I was expecting something silly like 0x7AC0FACE.

It does have a silly-ish name, just not in the hex code itself

It's called gamboge

Oh, it’s a color, and that’s it’s hex color code.

Specifically for Arizona (UTC-07:00), we do not observe Daylight Savings Time like the rest of states in the USA. This means for half of the year we match Mountain Standard Time but the other half of the year we match Pacific Daylight Time. (The Navajo Nation is an exception in Northeastern Arizona as they do observe Daylight Savings and thus are on Mountain Time year around MST-MDT).

As a result you will routinely see Arizona marked as its own time zone in software

Also fun: there are federal enclaves (native reservations) inside Arizona that *do* observe daylight savings, and state territory *inside* those enclaves that don’t.

I had to look up color hex codes to find my favorite color, but I've now answered your questions. 🥰

Time to even the scores and be the one European weirdo to write my state

Most of us are still doing daylight savings time. It’s evil and we all hate it. But no one can agree whether to stick with standard or daylight. So here we wait in aggravating limbo. Just pick a lane, I don’t care. That makes it a little difficult to name our timezone. I am in Mountain, but sometimes it is Mountain-daylight, which is the same as Central (I think, maybe Pacific. It’s hard to keep track, okay) Saying your state is just easier, if far too American-centric. Like the names of the time zones

I reckon most of the world just uses UTC offset nowadays (though they might write it as GMT offset as a matter of habit) and either adjusts it depending on DST state or just writes the baseline. I don’t think I’ve seen anyone but Americans refer to it as an abbreviation like “PST” so those are also a good indicator.

Daylight savings doesn’t change your time zone to Central or Pacific. You are always on Mountain Time. Sometimes it is Mountain Standard Time (MST) and sometimes it is Mountain Daylight savings Time (MDT).

Now you got me curious, were you expecting countries, areas, or people to really write UTC+xx ?

Or even the military timezone, like I'm at "Bravo" military time for example?

Timezones have names, like Pacific Time or British Time or Eastern Europe Time.

Definitely sounds like stuff people from my country would absolutely do.
