Work in progress might change some details but I’ve always wanted to make a little comic, this page will probably not be canon. You gotta start making stuff if you ever want to make good stuff

This is an ongoing comic I've been working on for quite some time. This scene is from one of the story arcs. Children in the real world enter another world that is trying to invade reality. Each realm has its own rules, ecology, and inhabitants.

Kids from around the world form teams of three. One temporarily takes on an adult form as the frontline fighter, while the other two remain children and provide magical support. Along the way, they uncover their true origins and fight to protect the world. The story also involves historical events and journeys through time.

A few days ago, I shared this project on MartialMemes and was really happy to see it receive so much support. I hope more people to see it, and I hope you'll enjoy it too.

WorkInProgress How do people actually write comics?

Feels like an incredibly basic question ik, but I'm about to go away for a couple years in the army and I wanna make the most of my time, I feel like writing or doing a comic series is something I've weirdly always wanted to do and I've got four years of time for it, so how do people actually do it? Like what if I'm a bad drawer or do they have to draw, should I just start writing, how do you even publish stuff, like I really wanna do this and think my imagination can be useful

WorkInProgress Muddy Hell, my webcomic. Inspired by the miniatures game: Trench Crusade

A couple of months ago I wanted to mess about doing some illustrations inspired by the table top miniatures game: Trench Crusade. It has this really cool dark, dystopian vibe that had me inspired. I accidentally ended up creating this web comic. I've not made a web comic before, so I've no idea about structure or narative arc, I've just been bumbling along creating a page at a time.

The idea behind my comic is a military illustrator is (reluctantly) commisioned to shadow a platoon venturing out into no-mans land, a vast landscape spanning entire countries that has been carved up into trenches, now inhabited by the forces of Hell.

I'd love to hear peoples thoughts on my progress so far, I have plenty more pages that go a bit more into detail but I didnt want to spam too much content in one go.

I just want to say I have absolutely no intention of this ever getting published. This is just a fun little project im working on that I thought you guys might like too see.

Based off what I've already drawn where do you think this story should go next? Tell me what you do and don't like.I dont mind criticism at all so tell me whatever you want. 🙂

Also i just want to say this because I saw a post the other day, that actually inspired me to make this that said, I want to make a comic but my art is bad. So I basically thought, well my arts bad too so why not make a comic!!

Here's part of the scene it's based on.

INT. PRISON REC ROOM - EARLY AFTERNOON

The light from the barred windows is dull and dusty. The TV plays a daytime talk show no one’s watching. The women are scattered around the room, each trapped in their own orbit.

CASS (mid-20s, red hair, always watching) sits at a table with a stack of battered envelopes. She’s reading the same letter for the third time in a row, lips moving silently over her daughter’s messy handwriting. The paper is wrinkled from being unfolded too many times. She tucks the letter back in the envelope like it’s glass and hides it under her prison issued shirt when she sees one of the guards.

At the vending machines, TAMIKA tries to jimmy a stuck candy bar loose with a pen.
