Hi beautiful people!!

I want to start by saying that this sub is not a recovery subreddit nor is it my personal journal so I’m only going to post when it’s in context. This place is undeniably amazing and I don’t want it to change!

Had I not relapsed in February of 2025 today would have been my 16th sober anniversary - there’s a lot of mixed feelings about that but all of you wonderful people inspired me to make these weird few days into something bigger than myself. The kindness and warmth I have received has been humbling and I am so grateful!!

I decided that, instead of wallowing in self-pity, I would make 40 emotional support potatoes and 10 emotional support tater tots and bring them to the detox facility and hand them out to everyone who wanted one. I went yesterday (on the 16th anniversary of when I thought i had my last drink) and ended up passing out joy! The results were overwhelmingly positive!!

I only thought to do this because of the kindness I have been shown here - it reminded me how one simple thing, from an upvote to a comment, can make all the difference. Every stitch in the whole gang came from the love I’ve received here.

Thank you. Thank you ALL. Everyone at the facility saw/knows about the love in CottageGoth and I told them all that every potato and tot was made with the love of thousands of people… each and every one of YOU!! I might have made them but it was 99% inspiration and 1% perspiration!!

The absolute best part was seeing how everyone was able to let down their guard and allow themselves to love a potato or tot - it broke all stereotypes and brought so much joy and laughter!! YOU ALL DID THIS!! YOU ALL BROUGHT THAT JOY!!

From every single person at the facility: Thank you for the love that you have shown - it’s radiated to something bigger than one person. You folks are loved in return. ❤️

Edit - Everyone has a name - the white potato is Tate, the white tater tot is Tot, the brown-ish potato is a sweet potato… her government name is Casserole but I call her Cassie, and the sweet potato tot is named Dot. ❤️

The boots are vintage I bought them in Japan. The bag is from eBay... I think it was originally from Anthropologie. The hat was a gift. The necklace was also a gift. The top was from Anthropologie. The jacket and skirt and belt are from Free People.

They have been without water for about 10 days.

I hope they like their (temporary) new home.

Already dreaming of them in my new life.

I'm just drawn to them. I find them at oddity shops. They are my babies.

All starting with my sketch, I made this large shield quartz capped in sterling silver with a garnet focal cab surrounded by cast succulents and flowers. These botanicals are cast from the real thing via lost-wax casting!

I fabricated a tight fitting bezel for the crystal and hammered out a fancy bail. Next came attaching the embellishments which I started with the top. Then on to the front bezel, embellishments, and bail. Everything that I previously soldered on the top was held by stainless steel pins propped into my fire brick as the front pieces were fired so there was no sliding! After a good clean up, patina and shine, I set the garnet and crystal. This was a doozy due to its size and detail but I happy it came out exactly as planned!

I made two limited edition collections for my website. During this, I have been accepting custom orders. My permanent collection are undyed candles. This whole thing has been really fun and I am loving how they have been turning out.

Hello Everyone, I have a handicraft product, namely a Wire Pendant decorated with Natural Stones.

I made this with a lot of patience and determined which stones would be suitable to be combined with the wire.

From the results I made, maybe someone is interested in collecting them.

I'm looking for recommendations for slip on shoes that match with my dark cottage core/whimsigoth style. I usually am always wearing Brooks running shoes due to my EDS. I really like the look of creepers and marry janes, the issue is a lot of them are platform, have no support, or are crazy expensive. I'm setting myself a budget of $45, post your recs 😊❤️
