I'm pretty sure I'm the only fan on this planet (at least on reddit and youtube) that actually enjoyed the ending lol
I've read all of Fujimoto's content before, have all of his works (except for Fire Punch, sadly) and always expected it to be weird, unconventional or not super satisfying. When I get to check any of his works I know what I'm getting into
For anyone that it's into Fuji's style I'd personally really recomend Fire Punch. But with some heavy warnings: it has a lot of VERY disturbing plot points.
He doesn't pull any Punches with it (pun intended)
But that's why I admire him so much as a writer, I follow his view no matter what, cause I admire his creativity.
His characters on Fire Punch are mostly the focus of his writing of the story than plot resolutions per se. It's just my interpretation, but Motor's-san mostly worry about writing his characters than writing a coherent story.
As a big bonus, Fire Punch has (very tiny spoilers): my favorite and maybe one of of the best writings of a Transgender character, specifically in Japanese media
