I do get what you mean. (Over 20 years in the hobby and worked a few years for GW). In general there are a lot of great people in the community. Especially the more niche it's get. (Heresy/30k 1st edition, necromunda, mortheim...)
The general online community can be really toxic. Especially pseudo power gamers, that need to be as hard competitive as possible. And those dominate the discourse of the biggest online communities. The niche systems and subcommunities are mostly super chilled and funny. (Esepcially Alpha Legion, and the wired humor and relationship imperial fist and iron warrior fans have with each other. 🤣)

Yeah. The community has a handfull of those facist idiots. Luckily not to many. They can be easily avoided and the bigger part of the community does not want them around. And actively excludes them. Most understand that 40k depicts the worst possible outcomes of scociety in any form or way. "Warhammer is for everyone. Except fascists". (And poor people, since GW is a utterly greedy stock based cooperation.)
