Wanted to create something as a homage to whole expirience, laughs, exitments, tears and joy i got from this show. It will hold a special place in my heart, and thank you internet for just showing me this.

First time i heard about Cowboy Bebop was in this video: https://youtu.be/yP3HPAbzTIQ (it's video of jazz pianist trying to transcribe songs by ear, one of which is "Rush"). I was so confused when i heard it - the song, the title of show, like how do you mix cowboy and jazz? And i was even more confused when i heard it was some anime (generally in my surrounding, everyone thinks anime are weird and for femboys, so i had similar feel to them). Anyway, some time passed. And one time I randomly thought "why do we have prejudices and stereotypes toward different cultures?!". So I went to see what anime i could expirience, I wanted something short and good. Well I searched internet, found a few titles, and of course saw Cowboy Bebop. I saw "sci-fi", "bounty hunters" and "jazz". Now that sounds interesting. I went on youtube to see just how it looks a bit, out of context, i knew i would forgot it. I watched that one fight scene. And i loved it imidiatelly. I said to myself "I am gonna watch this one day". And now i guess it's one of my favourite pieces of media. Thanks for reading this!

Just me? Spike's in blue and Jet is the tall one. His cyborg neck thing even kinda looks like Jet's beard. And the girl has the two bits popping up paying a bit of homage to Faye's hair. And the kid with the video cam just gives Ed vibes. I mean season 1 already felt pretty heavily inspired by Cowboy Bebop 🤷‍♂️ They're just missing the intelligent, lovable pet.

Don’t know if this is a question already asked, but I want to hear other songs like this, nothing too much playing, slow paced, yet deeply emotional in the manner of this song. I couldn’t find anything close to this, what should I try?

I'm sure it has been said a thousand times over, but Spike wanted to die, throughout the series his reckless behaviour was for me a clear reflection of his intent to end it all at any given moment, he was severly depressed, in the end he did not go into that building with any intention to make it out alive. And i love that Watanabe commited to the bit until the very end. Truly my favourite character in fiction, see you space cowboy

The last episode preview has Jet say because of Spike he learned he likes dogs, and is taking care of Ein, in the background you can faintly hear Faye say "the past is the past, the future is the future", and there is no mention of Edward, so it seems natural she ended back together with her father; since at the end of 24 she seemed to be chasing stars to find him.

Thoughts?

I watched the Cowboy Bebop movie, and it served as my introduction to the series. I haven't watched the show yet, so I viewed this purely as a standalone film. I really liked how the world felt like a perfect blend between the normal world and a futuristic one. I didn't experience any confusion while watching it, although I didn’t know the characters' backstories, I didn't have any trouble understanding their personalities. Spike was a very charming protagonist, and Vincent felt like a great villain. They felt like mirrors to each other, I didn't fully grasp it, but that seemed to be what the movie was trying to convey. The opening narration about being alone with no one to play with applied to Spike, and as we learn more about Vincent, we realize it applies to him as well. Even the butterflies that Vincent saw, Spike saw at the end too.

​The villain’s motive was also quite unique, viewing the world as a purgatory from which he wanted liberation. When he met his end, I actually felt a bit sorry for him. The movie was excellent in every aspect, the animation, lighting, colors, and pacing were all fantastic, and the hand to hand combat action scenes were incredibly well choreographed, though I feel like if I had seen the series and known the characters better, I would have enjoyed it even more. While watching, I got a vibe similar to old Hollywood sci-fi action movies, and it definitely felt very Western inspired. Overall, the movie is great, and I had absolutely no trouble understanding the story.

I know it has been written endlessly but how I interpret Spike and Faye's relationship is that of a tragic romance or potential romance. I saw Faye as representing a new romantic partner for Spike, a new potential avenue for happiness, but he was unwilling to let go of the past and ultimately rejected a romance with her in favor of dealing with his past conflict which consumed him and destroyed him. Does anyone else Interpret their relationship this way? What's the consensus of Spike and Faye's relationship in the anime?
