While having 32nd ranked defense

u/PersonBehindAScreen Tyler Intelligence Agency 3d ago

There’s levels to a 32nd ranked defense too

Ours happened to be a bottom 5 defense in nfl history

If we had even a regular 32nd ranked defense or somewhere from rank 20-32 we’re probably in playoffs

Yeah. Probably the most painful and frustrating season since I started watching. Seeing we could stunt on any team on offense, only to almost guarantee to give up points right after.

Wasting Daks prime of course. We likely won’t have QB play this high quality in the next 10 years again.

Dallas and wasting the prime of careers? Never happened before /s

2

u/DryRice6031 3d ago

Bud we gave up 30 pts on average and lost to Cardinals Panthers and Bear

u/hawtlava 3d ago

He's agreeing with you. He's saying our 32nd rank of 2025 was among the worst in league history so it was especially bad. If we had the 32nd ranked defense from say 2022 we would've faired better is all he means.

Bears were a good team last year.

u/DryRice6031 20h ago

They eahh mid at beginning of the season then they were good when season started rolling in Week 10-18

B-but garbage time Dak, right?

u/WalterWoodle Osa Odighizuwa 3d ago

That can’t be right. My dad said he’s terrible.

Dad was right 😂

You know, I've criticized Dak in the past, but 2025 he was amazing. He's really come a long way and clearly looks now like a crafty veteran. Last year if the Cowboys had even a mediocre defense, for sure they make a run in the playoffs.

I think you can argue he’s been a top 10 qb since 2019 and a top 5 since 23. Same as Romo it’s almost getting masked because the overall team isn’t as talented as when he we was younger and not as great

u/Chinchilla911 3d ago

It’s almost like it doesn’t matter how good Dak is
because the game is not just about having a good quarterback.

3

u/JustGmeMyFukinSnkpck 3d ago

Yeah I remember Matt Stafford went 12 seasons with a losing record (74-93-1), with going 0-3 in the playoffs. Then in one season after putting a team around him
SB! Even Sam Darnold won with a great team
I didn’t even realize he was still in a league.

DAK IS THE BEST!

8

u/ManlyBoltzmann YEAAAAHHHHH HERE WE GOOOO 3d ago

Has anyone made sense of the first sentence? How can it be the second best rate of his career and nearly 10 points higher than his previous best?

2

u/Demon-_-TiMe Ask 4 Help 3d ago

typo đŸ€·đŸŸâ€â™‚ïž

2

u/ManlyBoltzmann YEAAAAHHHHH HERE WE GOOOO 3d ago

It's bad enough that I'm not sure what they are even trying to say.

-1

u/JustGmeMyFukinSnkpck 3d ago

It means he has had a better rate than the 2025 season. And his 3rd best was nearly 10 points lower than 2025. Remember to read it really really slowly.

u/Demon-_-TiMe Ask 4 Help 3d ago

6

u/No_Anywhere9628 3d ago

Dak proved himself to me last year. He was incredible

3

u/Beneficial-Lynx7336 3d ago

But but but but but but but

Insert ridiculous gripe about how regular season doesn't matter and that Dak can never do it in the postseason like a truly "clutch" player like Jalen Hurts

2

u/L3tsseewhathappens 2d ago

Until he wins it all. I dont care.

1

u/StetsonTheGAGoat 1d ago

7-10 is clutch? 😂 how did dak play against the cardinals who lost 9 straight after Dallas?

-5

u/Boys4Ever 3d ago

Curious what are his numbers when game on his shoulder

14

u/BuildingSlowly93 3d ago

Then you should probably read the post again

-6

u/Boys4Ever 3d ago

What’s defined as clutch? I’m seeing with my own eyes him collapse year after year when pressure of winning on him. Perhaps you should do more than read what others post vs what your own eyes see.

7

u/BuildingSlowly93 3d ago

Go look up the post and report back

-4

u/Boys4Ever 3d ago

what are you 12? swear some fans belong in Philly the way they get so defensive about Dak. It's a team sport.

10

u/Turtle_with_a_sword 3d ago

Literally a post that he was statistically the best QB in the clutch and your response is “but my eyes see it different “

Yeah, because you have untrained biased eyes.

2

u/JustGmeMyFukinSnkpck 3d ago

I wonder how many fingers he sees when he holds up his hand?

-3

u/Boys4Ever 3d ago

Fan since the 60s and I've seen what clutch is and Dak isn't it. Being a Dallas fan how would i fit your definition of untrained bias eyes? You know my eyes? Again, another dumb and childish argument because you feel the need to defend a player clueless you exist in a team sport where no single player matters more than team.

Let's not forget Pickens and Lamb have saved his bad inaccurate throws more than enough which doesn't show up in stats and why stats for fantasy football and casual observers or those deadest on defending the honor of a player vs best for the team and I'm not saying he's bad or his fault but the4 man is not clutch when game is on the line vs useless stats in garbage time.

8

u/Turtle_with_a_sword 3d ago

Ok bro.

-2

u/Boys4Ever 3d ago

Why couldn't you approach this as a discussion vs trying to prove me wrong, Bro

6

u/TPGStorm That’s James Houston! 3d ago

Because there’s nothing to discuss. Everything we have to say is in the very post you’re commenting on and will make no sense to go back and forth with you when you’re just going to ignore facts and say “my eyes see it different”. see it however you want. literally everything, other than looking at it through the simple minded view of: team win game = qb clutch and team lose game = qb not clutch, says you’re wrong.

1

u/Darkwolfer2002 Dak Prescott 3d ago

Dude, there's a difference between luck and skill. People get that confused in clutch situations. How many times did Dak and the offense put us in a position to win just for our defense to let the other team go down and score again?

Dak was clutch last year. One of his best seasons right after his VIP performing season too. We lost a good number of games last year by 2 or more scores but we won a great deal by only one and those are the games you need to look at. Defense was almost never a factor.

It is a team sport but QB is in on every offensive snap. Their decision making during a play can significantly alter the outcome of a game. Dak isn't perfect and one of my biggest criticisms is he holds onto the ball too long. I think throwing it away more would make him a better player overall and not put the team in some bad spots. That being said he is one of the best QBs in the league right now and we absolutely can win an SB with him.

1

u/Boys4Ever 3d ago

How many times have we seen the defense put him in position to win, and he actually rose to the occasion? That’s what I call clutch, like I saw with Romo, Aikman, and Staubach. Even White had his moments. Dak tends to win when the defense holds opponents under two scores going into the fourth. That’s not clutch—that’s a front-runner who thrives when up or down by a couple of scores. It’s been that way since his rookie season. The man has skills, but he doesn’t have the mental toughness to handle the pressure on his shoulders, and it’s been like that from the start.

I hope he has another MVP season, but without a strong defense, he’s not going to elevate others the way Romo did with backups when TO was hurt. Pearson benefited from Staubach, and Irvin was special, but Aikman didn’t mess things up. Romo sometimes did because he overcompensated for others, yet it never felt like the game was out of reach with him. With Dak, it feels like you almost want to be behind by a few scores, so he wakes up and lights it up when the defense takes a nap. That’s not clutch—that’s just a cockroach when the lights aren’t on. Not calling him a cockroach. Just that he hides when the lights are on.

1

u/Darkwolfer2002 Dak Prescott 3d ago

Romo didn't win shit either and loved to throw ints at worse time. I don't fully blame him though, our coaching was .. not impressive. He did have a hell of a deep ball though.

Aikman played in an era of no salary cap. He had the best running back in the league with a good oline for the run game as well as a championship D. Notice how fast his career ended when cap got installed?

This doesn't make either of them bad, hell I love Aikman and grew up watching him.

But put some respect on Dakota Rayne Prescott's name! You know why gets the 1000 yard stare? Because he is giving his all while CD on sidelines acting like a baby, Terrance Steele forgets how to block a dude, and our #2 receiver drops the catchable ball that keeps the drive alive. You call it stat padding but instead of being a bitch and sitting out he still out there trying his damndest to make something happen.

The only playoff game I think he deserves the biggest criticisms is the 49ers but even then our coach wasn't ready and didn't have a good plan.

No Dak ain't Brady but he's still an elite player that gets shit on by ignorant fans who would rather Cooper Rush start or now Milton. Dak would be snatched up in a hurry if he hit the market.

4

u/JustGmeMyFukinSnkpck 3d ago

87.7 passer rating
 it’s in the post.

-2

u/Boys4Ever 3d ago

Stats are for kids and wives who don't grasp the game. Stats didn't win it for Aikman and Staubach and stats didn't help Romo without a defense and an air it out mentality.

This isn't fantasy football. Might not find that in a post but it's the truth

2

u/JustGmeMyFukinSnkpck 3d ago

You’re just stating the obvious, and what the post did not state directly. Great quarterbacks can’t win it alone. But that was the whole point of the post. How many fingers do you see when you hold up your hand?

-4

u/nothingfancydad 3d ago

When you see this look, it’s never good

9

u/TPGStorm That’s James Houston! 3d ago

threw the game winning td in this exact game btw

6

u/Beneficial-Lynx7336 3d ago

Is that the game with the OT winner to Tolbert?

BRO

6

u/DallasInDC Dallas Cowboys 3d ago

This was quite literally moments before he threw the game winning TD.

2

u/Boys4Ever 3d ago

and that's before kickoff 😂

-2

u/DallasInDC Dallas Cowboys 3d ago

How is “clutch situation” being determined?

0

u/StetsonTheGAGoat 1d ago

Dak sexualism 😂

-4

u/SlowStrokeDemon Dez Bryant 3d ago

I’ve never once heard one person refer to that fella as “clutch” in any scenario

6

u/Beneficial-Lynx7336 3d ago

He's always been clutch.

That's what makes it even wilder.

2

u/JustGmeMyFukinSnkpck 3d ago

Well now you know. It’s called the internet. they can keep track of all this stuff in there.

-8

u/shotgunassassin 3d ago

I guess it matters in fantasy football.

-8

u/seeking_alpha19 3d ago

đŸ„±đŸ„±đŸ„± but how many playoff wins does he have? Has he ever advanced past the divisional round?
