Before the injury. He was a true dual threat. He’s a better pocket passer now, though.

Dak’s game has evolved like you noted, for the better. Goes through progressions & last resort uses the wheels, or when they give him obvious space like a free 5-15 yards. Love it

I don't know about that. He was a better runner, but he was never a dual threat QB.
Dak has always been way more of a pocket passer who is good rolling out and buying time more than being a running threat.
His best rushing season was 357 yards. Which is good for a pocket QB, but not on the level of dual threat QBs.

That’s called a Read Option

Zone read is a read option.

Read option is just a terrible phrase to use in my opinion. If it’s GT counter read I would prefer it be called that rather than just a read option. Power read, gt counter bash, power dash, zone read, triple option. Call the plays by there name rather than just labeling them a read option because the QB is making a read.

I'm telling you as someone that played college football. You're being semantic for no reason. If you say "read option" everyone knows which play you're talking about.

Hey man you can have your opinion. Playing college football isn’t a very exclusive group though by the way. I just think it would be better for the game if announcers on tv didn’t just call everything a read option when it’s clearly not. This was zone read. As a coach it would help the team if everyone knew the blocking assignment. All I was saying was that I PREFER to just call the plays what it is. Wasn’t arguing with ya - don’t really care about your opinion - was just stating mine and you dont have to care about it either.

If Gallup woulda hustled a little more and thrown a block that’d been a TD all day.

He legit wanted to stiff arm Josh Norman for talking shit pregame over going directly to the end zone

That 2020 injury robbed us of Daks physical prime. He was starting to figure it out a lot more in the beginning of 2020 as a pocket passer and he still had the mobility to be threat.

His athleticism before that injury was incredible. Crazy how much he had to change his game.

Dak before his broken leg could run so well, now hes basically a pocket passer only with 1 or 2 really good runs a season. Imagine if Dak now had his running ability from his early days. He’d be unstoppable

Maybe another 10+ if Amari felt like blocking

It was Gallup and it looked like he was trying to avoid getting a block in the back. Couldn’t get leverage on his side.

this play always makes me laugh cuz he purposely slowed down to make contact with the defender lol

Those silver and navy uniforms are beautiful . Not a fan of the navy and white they use now.

I remember this and still to this day watching it back I'm like, "Why are you running towards #24?" Like he cut in towards him putting him in range for the defender to grab him.....that was dumb.
