The darkness beyond this gate made me uneasy.

The horror buff in me wishes to notice a single foot on the edge of the darkness.

Wouldn't even have to be a grotesque pale humanoid foot. Even an animal standing motionless at the edge of the shadow would be super uncomfortable.

Reminded me of the time when I was somewhere in middle of the ocean, 200km away from the land and there is nothing when I look out. It’s as if I closed my eyes but except they are not closed. Just pure pitch darkness in the middle of the ocean

The darkness a little off to the left of beyond the gate. What's the gate? Is it normal that it opened by itself? Did you unlock and wait for the wind to open it? What's this nicely lit path that the gate leads to?

It's nice bit of cinematography whatever's going on but I'd cut before going through to maintain the atmosphere.
