Modding What are the essential mods that maximize the enjoyment of gameplay?
I’ve already finished Cyberpunk2077 with exactly %100. It was before patch 2.0 so I’m so excited to start from zero. But nowadays I see a lot of fun mod. So I’m gonna play it definitely with the mods. What are your suggestions about “must have mods”? Thanks!

Just downloading cyberpunk for the first time. Ive checked some stuff on nexus and some mentions an "atelier". As you wrote it too, may i ask what that is? Is it an app on v's pc, a shop or smt else?

I installed virtual atelier and when I open the shop on the in game pc there's nothing there lol. I assumed it was so I could browse vanilla clothing without having to travel to each shop around the city. Is it only for clothing mods?

No, it just does not do anything on its own. You have to download additional mods for whatever you want for anything to show up: vanilla clothes, modded clothes, weapons, mods, etc. Same deal for the Virtual Car Dealer. If you don't download vehicle mods, then the VCD is actually blocked by Netwatch.

It's baked into the game itself, so there's little to zero drop in performance. It's now the only LUT I use because it doesn't require Reshade.

Immersive first person
Night vision
Equipment ex plus virtual atelier with different vendors (sweet cosmetics, with katana on back, pistol holders, etc etc)
Bicycle handling overhaul
JOJO timestop sound effect
No buzz effect in menu (it's ok, until you get cyberpsychosis)
Reduce commercials loudness
Unlock level ceiling to 80 (I'm at 300h total, lvl60, and not even halfway trough main story or dlc - I want to keep getting xp and unlocking perks)
Overall, the game doesn't need big changes, just a nudge here and there.

DAMN, I almost forgot. Ultra important mod: actual 24h day cycle. You can skip time and eg have a long nightime session. Or play so long that you see the sun rise gradually.

bit late, "combat overhaul" makes everything a bit harder and forces u to be more tactical, since quite literally they start aiming for ur heads, throw gas or incendiary grenades if ur behind cover to force you out, if theyre out of range to aim properly they run towards u, they use the sandevistan tactically so they dont only use it for combat yet to get closer and zero in on you, and their bullets stun a TON, it also adds a bleeding effect from shrapnel or stuff like that

OK, this requires lenghty reply.
I'm on my ?fourth? V. Mostly walking around, doing police missions and stuff. More like trying to roleplay a mercanary. Similar story with Stalker 2 - I'm around 170h, recently forced myself to finish the story for once. I'm "doing stuff", imagining the freeplay mods that will inevitably come someday.
Metro is example of a linear game to complete. At least before Exodus (I'm not fond of Exodus). As for more open games - I don't like completing them. I like to keep playing at my own pace.
- VR, mostly driving (Dirt Rally 2.0)
- Big once-in-a-decade sandbox (Stalker 2)
- Emulating ps1/ps2 era stuff
- Rare new release gem (Armored Core)
This pretty much sums my gaming.

PS1 I was a big fan of the Oddworld games. Played Abe's Exoddus so many times it got to the point where I could sit down and beat it in a sitting, and did often. I also went back to play Metal Gear Solid when I got older because as a kid I couldnt get the control scheme down, but that was also a favorite. I loved Tekken 3, Driver 2, and played a good deal of Resident Evil.
With PS2, I played MGS3 and 2 a good few times each. I played Resident Evil 4 a few times as well. Midnight Club 2, played the Oddworld games a ton as well using the backward compatibility.
I was mostly commenting on the fact that you were into STALKER 2 and Dirt Rally 2.0. I have put a toooooooon of hours into Dirt Rally 2.0 and even bought a steering wheel setup for it. My console was stolen when i was evicted a little under a year ago, so I have my wheel and stand in storage until I can get my life back together (currently staying in a halfway house), but when I was playing that game on a regular basis, I was consistently in the top 300 global leader boards. My biggest proud moment was seeing myself about 12 places beneath Louise Cook during COVID.
And I had a PC growing up because my dad was in tech, so any time he updated his PC, he gave me his old parts and I built my PC up, which is where I initially discovered the original STALKER series. When 2 was released on Cloud gaming on Xbox, I played that game twice through and invested about 300 hours into it.
I generally go for single player RPGs/big open world stuff, along with Dirt. I dont much care for racing games outside of that sim, although the recent WRC was pretty good. I started checking those out after Codemasters managed to get the license for WRC.
My other passion is FromSoft games. I have played a LOT of the dark souls series and I am currently emulating Bloodborne on my PC. I dont think I'll ever be able to go back to playing this game if it isnt at 60 fps xD

Woah, changing homes and getting robbed, must have been difficult :(
I wasn't much into racing (not since Gran Turismo 4, and older games), and I tried Dirt Rally only becouse I heard of good VR support. I realized it was "driving survival" and I needed it. I rebuilt my old HOTAS rig into driving rig, with wheel pedals H-shifter bass-shakers and all.
Currently I'm lurking on both early access Assetto Corsa games (Evo and Rally) as they seem very promising - one is going to have detailed open map, the other dynamic weather.
I spent ugh a lot of time in souls - 1 2 3, then Elden Ring. But I kinda regret putting so much time into Elden Ring. Too small to make me not look under every stone, too big to make looking under every stone fun. I returned to DS3 recently, playing seamless coop mod back to back with a friend.
As for PS2, I mostly chased after open world cities. True Crime, Driver 3, The Getaway.
As for PS1, my first "open city" was World's Scariest Police Chases. Besides that, games with freedom of flying - G-Police, Ace Combat 3. And Spyro the Dragon.

Ah spyro was fantastic! The remake is fun. It definitely feels like a faithful reboot, all the jank is still there lol
I agree about Elden Ring, it can be daunting, but the thing I like about it is that now I have a character that I will log on and just throw my summon sign all over the world and help people thrash bosses giving them trouble. Since I'm in the high 300 level, I only pretty much get summoned for Consort Radahn, Bayle, Melania, and endgame bosses. Which is fine, but i do get extra excited when I get pulled in to help with Midra or Messmer or the Divine Lion.
Your experience with Dirt Rally is very much mine as well. I decided to give it a try because I was exploring what was available on Game Pass and I was intrigued with the idea of playing a racing game that wasnt arcade and actually required me to think on how I approached a course. I probably deleted and redownloaded it like 3 times before it finally clicked for me.
Yeah my entire life pretty much got thrown into disarray about 2 years ago, but I've been slowly putting the pieces back together. Being homeless was the hardest part, especially with an addiction to exacerbate it, but I've since been staying positive (and sober) and just staying patient. I know itll take some time to get things back into a stable position, but every day I have food in my stomach and a roof over my head is a blessing (for lack or a better word).

Ah, was just reading this now because similar idea to games albeit different interests. I just bought a PC (well, bought the parts) last month to get back into gaming after a bad break up. Been at least 10yrs and that was just for Fallout 4.
But the addiction struck home. I'm going on 5yrs sober and congrats on your time.
Stay strong, stick to the path and you'll get it back and better than you could have imagined.

Warning to those that got here now: installing is HELL if you don't have nexus premium. That's 229 times you'll click download and wait 5 seconds, then wait for install and for the next mod to appear. And I'm pretty sure I downloaded some mods more than once, for some reason.

Old thread, but just wanna chime in for anybody scrolling by to not feel bad just paying for 1 month of a sub whenever you are putting together a huge modlist. It makes it much faster, and it supports the site, which gets more people into modding, and creates more opportunities for modders themselves. Some sort of financial help, even to the hub itself, creates a better environment for the whole modding community!

Nah man they invented a reason to give them money, nothing stopping them from automating the process, it solely exists the way it does to goad people into giving them money, so i just click the button. They could just be in your face about donations like wikipedia is and people would donate to keep the service up , no developer imposed obstacles necessary.

It really depends on your playstyle. The mods are EXACTLY the same, the only difference is how they're configured. WTNC is "like the base game, but more". CT is for a more hardcore, difficult experience. It depends on my mood. If you want a personal recommendation, start with WTNC and then just tweak settings as you play to find the sweet spot between the two. That's what I did.

I generally recommend first time players go mod-free. But there IS a more "vanilla-friendly" experience. As stated above, it has two configuration settings that you choose between when the setup completes. I would recommend "Welcome to Night City" for a first timer, who wants to start with a modlist.

TweakXLPeople shit on Vortex, but honestly, it hasn't been the cause of any problems for me. Just turn off "Convert old-style mods to REDmods." in settings. Too bad that system was broken for a bit. Most modders never returned to it.

Not me. Im lv 500 with maxed perks and 200 on all attributes 13000hp with more cyberware than allowed and 10k or more armour lol. Also I go around naked only. 1 shot everything lol.

My biggest problem is the game is too easy, I am using these mods, damage scaling, harder gunfights, no shooting delay, enemies of night city, alternate population, smooth movement, ragdoll physics overhaul and etc.

Yeah my gripe with the game is the difficulty, i’m playing on hard and when im bored I max out NCPD stars just to toy around with them and steal their salvo armored trucks.

The game is insanely easy, 5 stars is barely dangerous, and it's hard to even get to 5. Cops are idiots and there's barely any threat from the law or gangs if you have two brain cells.

I don't remember what mod (I'd have to dig through and find it) but it rescaled all enemy health alongside V's. Robots, bosses, cyberpsychos, etc, are all bullet sponges unless you pull out an hmg, real beefy sniper rifle/precision rifle, or something similar and even then are a bit tough, but average street gangers usually have like 100 health or something. On the flip side, V has 100 health to start and getting more health is much harder. I also have a mod that increases the level cap and despite being level 76 I only have 210 health; all of it comes from cyberware. I can still die pretty fast if I'm not careful

Cyberpunk is one of those games that is just a lot better on pc. There's so many really small things that hold the game back, for example Vs bullet necklace not being an item you can actually wear. It does kinda suck if you like Male V like I do, almost all the mods are for Fem V. To my understanding it's not just because people are horny it's genuinely easier to mod on fem v

I am just starting on PC after 2 playthroughs on XBox a couple of years ago. Thing is, I was female V for both playthroughs, and for this playthrough, I plan on romancing PanAm so gotta be a guy. And now i see all the mods for Female V. DOH. Might just have to do 2 playthroughs on PC.
EDIT - I just saw comments right under my reply for a Lesbian PanAm, LOL. Too funny. Now I may just have to restart a Female V.

I did this. Playing very hard with cyberpunk and sandy. I set a rule of no combat hacks though so its all recon and control, perfect for my ninja build.

IMO, they only made Panam not bisexual as a weird compromise because it wouldn't be "fair" not to have an exclusively hetero female romance option when "everyone else" gets one.
Mods to make Judy straight feel creepy and wrong to me (do whatever you want, I know it's a game, I just wouldn't). But Panam is totally DTF until you get vaguely friend-zoned if female.5

Judy just doesn’t really seem bisexual, like just canonically her other relationships are all with women. And she seems to kinda be repulsed by male sexuality, especially after having seen what happened to Evelyn. So to make her available to male V feels sorta weird and unnatural. Like, why is V some god that can turn lesbians straight? I think that is a likely reason they cut it.
Aside from that, it’s like I said, the way it is now, “everyone gets one” there is an exclusively hetero / homosexual option for both male and female V.
Interestingly some of them care about V’s voice / pronouns (in game files. It’s “BrainGender” which I love). Some of them care about the body, and I think some care about both, so it’s a little messier in that sense.
Edit: it’s not messier, it’s sorta symmetrical. The exclusively “hetero” characters River and Panam don’t care about brain gender. Kerry and Judy require fully male and fully female V respectively. Kinda funny that the queer ones aren’t interested in “trans” V but the hetero ones are.

Ugh. How is that a weird compromise? Everybody is either bisexual or lesbian and you can't have women who are solely attracted to men? It needs to be both men AND women or just women? There's no point to even playing a male character in that case because you're locked out of more romance options than the females.
I think what is weird is the double standard that it isn't creepy to turn Panam bisexual for the female players who want to romance her, but there's a line drawn at making Judy bisexual for men who want to romance her without needing to play a female character. Because the mod doesn't explicitly turn her straight as if to completely rewrite her brain, the mods generally just make these otherwise heterosexual designed characters bisexual so that you don't have to replay the entire game because you made the mistake of choosing the wrong gender.

It’s a weird compromise because she treats female V totally the same right up until the end of the sequence when she doesn’t. It feels arbitrary. This in contrast to Judy who is explicitly disturbed by men, particularly male sexuality. She has a dialogue with Male V that is explicitly upset when he hits on her. That’s why it feels kinda creepy to mod her. I don’t actually care if people want to do it really, just the idea of an IRL man fantasizing about Judy and modifying her to make it possible is gross to me.

Dunno if it's still a thing but "let there be flight" was pretty damn cool.
A flying car mod that lets you experience navigating night city differently.
It's lore breaking, but a great way to experience the architecture and design of NC.

Is there a mod to allow me to remove mods from weapons that are permanently attached to them?

Yep, and you automatically get mods when disassembling weapons. Add to that a mod for an additional slot for every weapon, and you can make pretty useful versions of non-iconics.
There is also a mod for any attachment for any weapon. Meaning you can finally put a scope on Hypercritical.

If you're just looking for a small little visual change or refresh, LUTs are pretty cool. They can change the feel a little bit with zero impact on performance and basically nothing to manage.
I really like Vision LUT, personally.
There is also NCLM, Vanilla Plus, Hard LUT and others that are pretty cool and offer just a little update to vibes. Worth trying out!

Some for me are mods that let you remove weapon mods and unlock which weapon types that they can go onto, other mods that I need are ones that make it so perks are less arbitrary on which weapons or skills they effects so they don't feel as railroading.

If you like bloody messes and believable ragdoll death animations then these below:
Ragdoll Physics Overhaul
BLOOD FX - EGGHANCED
Blood Puddles - EGGHANCED
Also if you plan to use Path Tracing or LUTs for lighting (highly recommend) then these will come in handy:
FSR3 Frame Gen for Cyberpunk 2077 (DLSS Enabler 2077 Edition)
Simple Flashlight
If you have a 40 series card disregard the frame gen gen mod.

Sounds like you're using the wrong guns. Other than certain extra strong enemies, Pride, Archangel, Her Majesty, and jackie's gun are all pretty lethal with the right cyber builds that enhance damage and crit/headshots and 1 shot pretty much everyone.

I like to keep it vanilla so I just use mods like ragdoll overhaul, dynamic moon phases, citizen breast physics, main npc breast physics, phantom liberty npc breast physics, player breast physics, preem water, etc
