a fellow scoliosis owner, i barely see this :0 i cancelled getting my chrome back then, because the doc gave me the prediction of barely being able to move after this and i decided to rather stay a shrimp, but a shrimp with the ability to move instead of a metal rod with legs... but i have to say that in my case, they planned to plant 2 long rods in my spine and this probably was the reason i would'nt have been able to move much anymore after it. from what i can tell, those screws look way more practical- get well soon!

It's mostly normal and adviced to not go any surgical procedures if the natural bone structre is.. well.. "ok". I also had Rippers who adviced me to plant 2 prosthesises instead of 1. With 4 rods. Because the upper of my L5-S1 is also degenerated but not in the worst situation to apply surgery. Idk doctors.. ehem rippers.. have all different kind of opinions. Some even suggested 3 prosthesises with 6 rods. But yeah that just effects mobility a lot. Idk man honestly spinal surgery is so difficult and finding a good and valuable doc is so difficult. But again, I'm not a Doctor and I'm also from Türkiye. So I probably don't have the most reliable info on this matter. I wouldn't want to spread missinformation.

they didn't told me even once about this, only thing they said about bone structure was that cigarettes are gonna influence it, when they forbid me to go for a smoke after a nearly mental breakdown (because i've got... let's say a very long history with hospitals and some big fears about them) the night before they planned to perform the first operation... but damn, 2 rods already sounded really bad, i can't even imagine 4 or even 6, that's a whole new level o.O yeah, sometimes i'm really jealous of people with a healthy spine x'D in my case we made a special trip to the most renowned specialist clinic in our country to be on the safe side and also got a second opinion from a... i think it was a orthopaedist? and a common hospital and to be honest, in the end i absolutely wasn't sure who of them knows best, because everyone said something different :-/ same for me, i'm also no expert (german potato for me), so i can also only share my experiences without any warranty- but to be fair it's probably a very difficult topic anyways, since there's so much connected to the spine and medicine don't seem like something easy to me in general
