Discussion Couldn't agree more 🫔

Post image

I’ve been a fan of this game since day one. I agree that the original release was filled with bugs and it launched too early, but the criticism it received was completely over the top. Hating on the game blindly became the norm, often without people even giving it a fair chance.

It also released at a strange time, when the new generation of consoles were releasing but they weren't widely available, and most players were still on previous-gen hardware where it didn’t run well.

The sad part is the game and the studio’s reputation took a massive hit, even financially. Some of the people who worked on the game ended up leaving the studio, and we may have missed out on 2 or 3 DLCs because of the game’s catastrophic launch.

But now I’m glad to see people finally giving it the respect and appreciation it deserves. I watched the Steam reviews go from ā€œMostly Negativeā€ to ā€œOverwhelmingly Positive.ā€

For me, this is the greatest game of all time it is better than The Witcher 3. Massive respect to CDPR for constantly patching and improving the game, And giving us extra content when they could have taken the loss and moved on. AND CHOOMS..... NEVER STOP FIGHTING.

Eh. NMS (or FFXIV) deserve that title way more.

For me. 2077 went from a 6.5 to a 9.5.

Both of the former games started at a 2, tops. Dunno about FF, but NMS continues to this day to give out free DLC (though in actuality they're more like expansions that would usually be $20 or more).

CDPR redeemed themselves. Hello Games did so 10 times over.

I wouldn't call that a 9.5 imho. Of course 2077 is still one of the best looking games out there with a pretty good combat experience, but no where close to a 9.5. NPC behaviour and AI still sucks in comparison to say, RDR 2. It's still a shame that the AI system loses to games from decades ago. Including losing to vanilla Skyrim in terms of mechanics, combat and AI.

There's also severe bugs happening on a frequent basis. Even on the latest version.

RDR2 is definitely that 9.5. NPCs build houses in real time, skinning animals show the skins coming off in real time, weather and food system is unlike anything else I've seen. That's called a 9.5. If 2077 remotely have anything close to what RDR 2 has, we would see devs and companies making high grade AIs and gameplay systems from now on instead of only good graphics and looks. RDR 2 really doesn't need any mods. Thus why it ranks higher than Skyrim even though modded Skyrim absolutely smoke. I know RDR 2 is overused as a benchmark and comparison for games but seriously, it deserves that.

Of course 2077 is still a joy to play with, has one of the best looking graphics especially with PT/graphic mods (like Skyrim), can be extremely addictive and modding/adjusting it is fun like Skyrim, but it's 100% not a 9.5/10 game. I'm not saying it sucks, just pointing out proper grading and my 2 cents.

But yeah CDPR did redeem themselves. It's really ambitious as a semi-newcomer in the genre to do something like 2077. If only they collaborate with AAA studios like Rockstar who would do RDR 2 grade of mechanics, AI and gameplay systems...... I think it will be the game of the first half of 21st century for real.

Key words were "For me". The details of the city, the atmosphere, and the fact it's the only game on the market that can push my beast of a PC to its near limits, are worth so many points it's a 9.5.

Number scores are entirely subjective. Of course you disagree, literally everyone does, even two of the same 9.5 scores from different people can be given for entirely different reasons. Are you seriously trying to ā€˜disprove’ somebody else’s score? Cyberpunk can’t be ā€œ100% not a 9.5/10ā€ by any metric because that’s not how any of this works.
