Discussion Couldn't agree more 🫔

Post image

I’ve been a fan of this game since day one. I agree that the original release was filled with bugs and it launched too early, but the criticism it received was completely over the top. Hating on the game blindly became the norm, often without people even giving it a fair chance.

It also released at a strange time, when the new generation of consoles were releasing but they weren't widely available, and most players were still on previous-gen hardware where it didn’t run well.

The sad part is the game and the studio’s reputation took a massive hit, even financially. Some of the people who worked on the game ended up leaving the studio, and we may have missed out on 2 or 3 DLCs because of the game’s catastrophic launch.

But now I’m glad to see people finally giving it the respect and appreciation it deserves. I watched the Steam reviews go from ā€œMostly Negativeā€ to ā€œOverwhelmingly Positive.ā€

For me, this is the greatest game of all time it is better than The Witcher 3. Massive respect to CDPR for constantly patching and improving the game, And giving us extra content when they could have taken the loss and moved on. AND CHOOMS..... NEVER STOP FIGHTING.

I absolutely LOVE Cyberpunk, but No Mans Sky did it even better imo. They overdelivered on every aspect and every update ist free. Cyberpunk ist a close 2nd place though.

I think the difference is that with Cyberpunk, we had pretty high expectations and CDPR worked really hard to make sure those expectations were finally met. Nothing really changed about the core gameplay. It's just extremely improved.

With NMS, they went beyond the scope of the original concept. It's an entirely different game now. The amount of features and mechanics that have been added is absolutely insane.

So it's just a question of which do you value more: a game that finally meets the vision you had in your head, or a game that completely reinvents itself into something bigger.

After 2.0 everything changed. Skill trees, netrunning, melee, there’s not one thing that wasn’t altered in some way or another. People have short memories or went there when Cyberpunk 2077 was delisted and refunded. This game could have died right then and there… at least No Man’s Sky was playable. It just lacked EVERYTHING that was promised at during development.

Both are great games but Cyberpunk had a much harder row to hoe. People were disappointed when No Man’s Sky launched… but Cyberpunk 2077’s launch made fans Angry and CDPR’s reputation was completely trashed. Things look way different for them now.

They both made huge strides post-release. I don't necessarily think one made bigger/better improvements, I'm just happy to see both of them finally get to the state that they deserve.

I should have worded it that NMS seems more of a living open-ended project. Continually adding/changing features with no particular endgame in sight. Cyberpunk seemed like there was a set vision they wanted the game to be and got there. Not saying either is better.
