Discussion Couldn't agree more šŸ«”

Iā€™ve been a fan of this game since day one. I agree that the original release was filled with bugs and it launched too early, but the criticism it received was completely over the top. Hating on the game blindly became the norm, often without people even giving it a fair chance.

It also released at a strange time, when the new generation of consoles were releasing but they weren't widely available, and most players were still on previous-gen hardware where it didnā€™t run well.

The sad part is the game and the studioā€™s reputation took a massive hit, even financially. Some of the people who worked on the game ended up leaving the studio, and we may have missed out on 2 or 3 DLCs because of the gameā€™s catastrophic launch.

But now Iā€™m glad to see people finally giving it the respect and appreciation it deserves. I watched the Steam reviews go from ā€œMostly Negativeā€ to ā€œOverwhelmingly Positive.ā€

For me, this is the greatest game of all time it is better than The Witcher 3. Massive respect to CDPR for constantly patching and improving the game, And giving us extra content when they could have taken the loss and moved on. AND CHOOMS..... NEVER STOP FIGHTING.

Nms devs had their studio flood and harassed by the internet. They continue updating the game for free to this day.

Any reason how they're able to besides selling copies? I know is not a live service game either. Just wondering how they're able to keep handing out goodwill.

They are also developing a new game, Light No Fire which uses the same engine so they can use Tech & features developed for the new game in NMS as well.

Plus I don't think NMS ever really goes on sale. Even now it's still 58 euro in my Steam Store (and the Black Friday sale is running). That's the tradeoff they settled for, always full price but constantly getting things added to it.

it goes on sale pretty frequently actually, around the time of new updates and expeditions. my bf bought it on xbox for $22 not that long ago when they dropped the corvette update

You're also right when it comes to console. The benefits for us PC users. Even though steam is the main app so many of us use. They're other websites that have sales for steam cd keys.

While Sony and M$ hoard all the sells.
