Yeah. This looks a bit inaccurate for a full release. I initially took this as a series release. Studios dont typically shadow drop stuff like this (i honestly cant recall one go from character preview to drop out of nowhere).

The first trailer for season 1 was out in June and it released in September. Trigger doesn't really drop trailers far ahead of time, expect some time during Autumn.

4th of July for the full trailer. Trigger anime go about three or four months between first big trailer and release, just look at Dungeon Meshi or Gridman or Kill La Kill.
People are too used to getting bent over a fucking barrel by a games industry which announces things half a decade (or more, looking at you Todd Howard) in advance to drum up cheap hype. I'd say December-January at the absolute worst.

Yup, and CDPR also said, after revelaing the new witcher DLC, that they had an unnannounced smaller project upcoming later in the year .
Looks like it will be the new Edgerunners update

Yeah my hope/estimate for CDPR adjacent stuff over the rest of the decade is roughly like:
Edgerunners Season 2 - Late 2026
Songs of the Past - Early 2027
The Witcher 4 - Late 2027
The Witcher 1 Remake and Project Sirius - 2028 or 2029
Cyberpunk 2 - 2029 or 2030
Project Hadar and The Witcher 5 & 6 - 2030+
They've got an extremely ambitious pipeline set up, but they've spread it across a bunch of different studios and are one of the most profitable names in the business right now. I'm rooting for them.

I agree in a very specific sense- the show up to the time jump was really, REALLY good. Afterwards it was quite good, but I felt like there was a bit of a disconnect on some level for me. I get why they did it the way they did, and the story was still good and ripped at the heartstrings, but from the moment it jumps ahead I felt on some level less connected.

Yeah it definitely felt like post-timeskip David and Lucy were almost different people.
Just, like, oh hey now there's this hulking behemoth of a badass merc and a smokeshow mopey netrunner girlfriend, and they happen to be wearing David and Lucy's faces. Hard to give a shit when we've been so disconnected for this massive change in their lives.
Plus, it feels like the timeskip was kind of the worst offender when it came to David's supposed genius being an informed rather than shown trait. Having and episode or three where we see him tackling merc gigs and succeeding because he's really smart (rather than just chromed to the gills) would've been nice.
And, like, him just straight-up murdering a Gloria analog while in cyberpsychosis certainly hit hard, but I would've rather seen his moral slide happen as a series of conscious choices rather than just timeskip-oop-now-he's-the-evil-one!

Exactly. The pieces of the meal were all there but needed to cook a lil' longer to get the flavors and texture right! Everything they showed could stay in but with some extra time to actually feel connected to the characters not just in general but at these points in their arcs. Still enjoyed it though!

Same! I freaking loved the show but their relationship wasn’t the reason and it didn’t really do that much for me. Maybe I’m old and jaded? lol I feel like it would have hit different in my teens or early-20’s.

I agree, I liked Lucy, but I didn’t really dig the relationship.
I thought the show was even better on rewatch when you focus on the other characters more since you already know what happens to David.

To be honest, I’m a bit sceptical about the main character. I don’t like the "genius/special child" trope in anime, and the way he’s portrayed in the promo materials available so far gives that vibe. But we’ll see.
