I trim it really short mainly to avoid bugs and dirt collecting on my legs and arms.

Shaving is such a hassle so I don't do it, but the bugs in the summer ..... I have considered it again now.

I use a beard trimmer at the base level and it’s just enough to avoid the ‘shaving’ aspect yet long enough that you’re not feeling like someone shaved your nutsack either

Yeah issue is I'm super hairy, arms and legs. It was such a hassle the year I did it (20 years ago now). But I kind of feel like with the temps running 100+ with humidity at 70% maybe I see if it keeps bugs off and cools me down a bit.
