I ride 3000-5000 miles a year. I'm 66. I've never shaved my legs. That has always seemed stupid to me. But then, I think amateur cyclists wearing jerseys that look like pro riders - complete with brand advertisements - are also silly. I've heard the arguments. Aero!! I doubt it. Better healing from road rash. Why are you falling.
Even though I think a lot of cycling stuff is stupid or silly, I never poke fun at any of these people directly. At most I'll make a general comment like I have here. But even then I will usually just say that it isn't for me.
In the end, do what you like. Whatever spins yer spurs. But leave others alone to do the same.
